I'm swapping out the frame and need to remove the stock exhaust. Any tips on getting the exhaust and muffler separated? They are rusted together.
Is it possible to remove the motor from the frame while the exhaust is still in one piece? The exhaust pipe has been unbolted from the head.
Any help would be appreciated.

Remove the clamp in the centre, then use a screw driver to spread the tabs..you'll destroy the soft gasket between the pipe and flange but it's cheap to replace.

Just the same you should be able to get the motor out without separating since the motor goes out thru the left side..

Very glad you got the exh separated from the engine.
Be VERY careful with those exhaust studs.
I'd be tempted to replace them with something new and better but with my luck, I'd make things worse.
Lots of good posts about exhaust studs if you can get the search key to look for you.

Im curious where that fiber gasket between header pipe and muffler can be obtained?

I wonder if the exhaust will come out in one piece?
Without the engine it may be possible.
Hate to mess with the perfect fusion of the exhaust rust joint too.
