Suzuki alt50 ignition ?

i acquired a alt 50 recently and it does not have spark, there was no cdi, so i pulled the flywheel off to check inside for points and the only thing behind the flywheel was a single stator, what am i missing? i cannot find any schematics that show me what i need to know. thank you
