Still doesn't make sense Jay. The "gas lever" is on the tank, not the carb. Pics? Whatever you did wrong just do it right lol

My tank on my 90 has no levers on it. talking about the one on the carb to turn on off or reserve....

Oh shoot better get a 90 expert on this one lol... I'll do the research in the morning but hopefully a 90 guy chimes in here first...
Looks like the bowl is fed from the bottom, and if the lever is backwards you may have the fuel turned off. Assemble it correctly and try again

Why can't you pinch the fuel line and then change out what you need to do?

An easy way to tell if you are getting fuel is to loosen the bowl drain screw, if no fuel twist lever around. If still no fuel you need to do install it the right way.

They make fuel line clamping pliers. I use a small needle nose vise grips with pieces of fuel line jammed on the ends to clamp fuel lines shut. The pieces prevent marring the line you are clamping, just don't clamp too tight, just enough to do the job.

ok heres a quick easy trick to not having to empty a fuel tank, get two 6mm bolts and pull the bottom line first. Put the bolt in the line really fast to the point where it don't leak if needed use adjustable fuel clamps to keep it tight on the bolt. Then do the top line next same trick. I do this all the time when cleaning out tanks or working on carbs. it is a great possibility that if you put the on off lever on upside down that you won't get fuel, and easy way to do it right every time is to put it on with the long part going down which will have it on primary line. also primary line I believe goes on bottom and reserve goes on top. Cant remember which hose is which off the top of my head unfortunately.

ok just looked at your carb pic and saw you are not running a oem carb so your lines may be in different ordes and the lever may be in different directions, but yes you still need to have the lever going the right way.

As was suggested open the bowl drain and see if you got gas coming out, if not then its wrong. What i usually do when i check a carb before installing it is blow air through each line fitting while moving the lever to see if its opening and closing correctly. And i also use a couple small needle nose vise grips with fuel line pushed over the jaws to make a couple fuel line clamps. They were cheap knockoff brand vise grips from the local Menards, like $4 each... LOL

I think there might be a rubber disk inside there with 2 or 3 oddly nonsensical holes.
It surely can go in wrong.
I did one 10 yrs ago and used leftover metric computer screws to replace the stripped ones.

Yeah, maybe that internal disk that redirects the fuel flow.
Is yours rivited or screwed together?

Good job! Just remember no question is a stupid question, you can't learn if you don't ask. Even if some of the guys on here will tease you about it... ;-) LOL
