what would you pick for all the elements?

Of all the quads and trikes I've had over the years, the over all "ok at everything" and good for a vast variety of conditions so it takes the "best" award ATV, would have to be my '96 Polaris 400L Sport. I know its heavy, and dosent handle nearly as well as an "R" but as far as in the conditions and the tight woods environment I ride in, it was the best. They are superior to any 2wd sport or race quad out there in two areas: Mud and Snow and you simply can't find a quad with an easier to use reverse. Out of the box they are as fast as any sport quad but if you just make a simple $10 C/S sprocket change to one tooth larger, there top speed will jump from 65 to 75mph and thats Banshee/Raptor/DS/R/LT-Z country. Again this question is a very subjective one and it really depends on the area which you live and they type of rider you are.

I'd say the 400ex. It's pretty fast, a great handler, proven reliable, and it's a Honda.

Hey ryder, it's been a while! Glad to see you back.

It's your choice of any of them. Which one is the most well rounded for all kinds of purposes? Work and play. beginner and experienced. At least that's how I understood it.

hmmm

Sport Trike: Honda ATC350X
Ute Trike: Big Red 250ES

Utility Quad: Polaris Xplorer 400 4x4
Sport Quad: Sport Quads are a bit sad in my opinion....there was a big "gap" in the sport industry from about 1993 to 1999. I'd choose the Raptor as the best all around sport quad. Warriors are another good one, as the best selling ATV of all time (but then again its been around for 15+ years!)

However my choice for favorite machines of all in each category would be a bit differant :D

Utility Quad: Honda Foreman 450ES/S
Sport Quad: Raptor
I have a 2002 Foreman 450S and it is the best quad I have owned. It will go anywhere and has more than enough power to pull 28" tires in deep mud.

I think you missed the point. Your supposed to just pick one machine for everything not list machines for different catagories.

I'd have to say the 400EX is the best all around quad, it handles perfect and is perfectly balanced, my X ol' lady had one and i could ride a wheelie through all the gears without breaking a sweat, although it is majorly underpowered compared to the other machines in the sport quad class

I say the Honda 250SX and Yamaha 225 DR. They're not that sporty, but they'll do anything. The only time I've gotten stuck on my DX, it got stuck so bad that it had to be pulled out with a 200ft rope and the car. I wouldn't have even put a big 4x4 quad in that hole after I realized how sticky that stuff was. I don't think any atv could have gone through that day. And both of those trikes are plenty sporty to satisfy most things, in my opinion. They're not sport trikes, but they're the best all around.

I go with 3WheelHouston,250sx,the things are bulletproof! Mine did a 2 1/2 landing rubber side up  last Mon. at Badlands.Bent the bars abit but flipped her over, started right up, and back to the truck to straighten bars.Great trikes, reverse, elec. start, plenty of power & almost 55mph top end (fast enough to kill yourself) ;)
just my .02

Al

p.s. and they only have 3 wheels :D !!!!!!!!!!!
