everything from 3-6 to 6-10 here depending on where ya are in the state, but the shoreline is going to have a change over to sleet and freezing rain. Much rather would have all snow... More the better!

MRSOUND

Would rather have the snow. We are looking just a couple of inches on top of what we've already got then up to 1/2 of freezing rain.

Unless Jim Cantore is in your town you are safe.
They send that guy out to measure wind speeds from nuclear blasts

I run a 10 wheeler for the state as well as a loader loading the salt trucks. We've got one of the only trucks around with a sleeper on it which is HUGE when you have to sit around for hours at a time sometimes. I'll take some more pics of the operation for you honkies tonight.

Sorry boys, no real documentation on this one. The state called in the truck but not the loader, yet. I'm the low man on the totem pole so I didn't get called until the truck broke. I had to climb under the truck in a parking lot in the middle of the storm and roll around on the ground. The plow frame was not engineered correctly by the owner of the truck and thus ended up in the oil pan. I had to cut the bolts out of it with a torch and then use my truck's spare tire jack to muscle the plow frame into place where it should have been originally. Then I had to clean off the oil pan and JB Weld it closed. She lost about 8 or 9 gallons of oil after the break, so we had to fill that back up as well. It took a couple hours, but I did it!

Ended up getting about 8" here, then turned over to sleet / rain crap around 9AM.

Good Johnny ON the SPOT fix their John lol. Did you end up having to lay in all that oil to JB weld the pan shut? or were ya able to move it to a non oil slicked area.

I had Snow plow problems this morning also on the ATV, was down in the middle of the road and went to go lift the plow then pull back into the driveway, Well i lifted the plow back up and the winch cable snapped. hada ratchet strap it back up then bring it back in the garage and pull some more cable out and re install the winch hook with a fresh section of cable, didnt take long tho only about 20 min or so.

Got very little snow.....but over 1/4" of ice. Don't sound like much it equals very heavy trees. Lost power around 8 am due to down power lines from tree branches and didn't get back till like 6:30 pm. Still a lot locally in adjoining counties without power according to the news. Had our own close call with one of our pine trees. Heard it go around 2 am. Luckily it just "brushed" the siding. My only concern is the state of our ac unit as it did get hit.

Hey so what is everyone's forecast with this upcoming snow storm that is going to hit the Northeast on Thursday? I here Georgia is going to get hit with a killer ice storm? CT is looking at preliminary snow fall totals of 7-12" I tried to post up a picture of the snow total picture from a local new station but it wont go threw.

Right now for my area there are 2 scenarios. As they always say it depends on the tracking. 1 scenario is 6" of wet heavy snow. Scenario 2 is a "fluffier" 12-18" . kinda leaves it wide open for speculation. A winter storm warning has already been issued by the NWS.

All the weather stations i have come across for CT are saying that it is going to be the heavy wet snow here. I also just got a winter storm watch Text until 6AM 2/14/14

Snow has started dropping here.....Snow blower fueled up and sitting right inside the garage door.....Generator fueled up and sitting under a tarp right outside the back door. Hoping to not have to use it but have a feeling it might get ugly. How you guys down south making out? Seen ice reported as thick as 3/4" in some areas in the Carolinas and Georgia with lots of power outages.

No snow flying here yet! We are looking at 3-6 inches by mid morning tomorrow with the chance of Thunder snow, then a change over to sleet / freezing rain in the afternoon then a change over back to all snow early in the night. I am ready to go! Quad / plow's sitting right inside the barn door, snow blower's right behind it, then the 200s behind the blower ready for some fun when the work is done!
The generator is outside the back door all covered and ready to go (hope we will not need it.)

Everyone be safe! stay warm, and hunker down!! :D

2 of my favorite renter quotes: I need to flush the toilet. I said, get a bucket of water from the creek. He said he would just walk to the store (ice and snow covered road) to use thier bathroom, 1/2 mile away. Creek is 100 feet. (whole town's out of power)

Regarding the fireplace.
It doesn't blow any heat. so I casually mentioned AGAIN, that the power was out and had been for days.

Dontcha just love helpless renters?

How do you hook up the generator?
to specific appliance like fridge?
or whole house?
Power company hates it when generators are hooked to dead lines they're trying to fix.

I have actually yet to even use it during a power outage. I lost power for 6 days with the October Nor'easter of 2011, then when hurricane sandy was looming in 2012 I decided rather to be safe then sorry again so i went out and bought a Generator. Annoying thing is i have not lost power since... figures right. When the time comes when i actually do loose power it will be used to power specific appliance's like the fridge. My neighbor back feeds his threw the dryer outlet and turns the main breaker off to the street, and turns off all the items that he does not want to power on the circuit breaker. But i am not so sure how comfortable i am with that setup As i am no electrician by any means whatsoever lol.

Nah Sounds more like i need to invest in a snow mobile! Or at the very least a setup like your trike Scootertrash lol. I tried to get the 200s into the woods today and i didnt get anywhere with the near 2 feet of snow on the ground Made it about 2 feet off the plowed driveway and just stopped So i was forced to do a little street riding in the snow Which i am not a fan of because the boys in blue dont appreciate riding around here... Let alone riding on a trike, Last time i went out on the street i got the hairy eyeball from a cop who just happened to be chasing a group of quads. needless to say when he asked me which way they went he did NOT get the correct information and went driving away in the opposite direction, But he did go out of his way to say "Get the F*** home and dont ride that death trap anymore your going to kill yourself" Yea..... he was not a trike fan.... He doesnt no what he's missing!

I'm staged now at the Middleboro rotary (near Steve's house) in the loader. They usually don't send the machine out here but there's an outside chance we could get up to 18" from this storm. It's my job to keep this rotary open. Stop by if you're rolling through Steve! And if anyone was wondering, the tall hot waitress at Friendly's has a boyfriend.

18" my arse (that's what she said)! I think we got about 5 inches or so, maybe 6. Oh well, I got about 10 hours out of it. I enjoy running the loader anyways, and I got to hit on some broads as well.

Nothing too exciting, but they're pictures.

Nothing wrong at all, 3 #10 wires will get him a safe 30 amps......
