It is actually very scary/surreal to me.. Only because of my ignorance... BUT,, I was offered FOUR different AR's in the last 8 days. All NY guns. What they're telling me,and I hope they are mistaken. Is, Starting in April,it is here. ALL the Obama hype. They will be knocking on doors of registered semi auto owners?? My AR came from a fresh Veteran. He said BECAUSE he purchased his guns legally, and they were registered, they will be asking for them. "out of the hands of my cold dead body" were his words. He isn't that type, but he said it is getting nuts fast up there> Joe,I'm sure you're on top of this? I almost got a NIB Bodyguard in Sunday,,I was thinking of you!! Decals leave tomorrow. L O N G Story lol..

Yeah, it is bad here in NY. We were supposed to register our "assault weapons" as defined by the ignorant progressive libtards in Albany by this past January, I forget the exact date... They are having the same "problem" CT is...nobody is registering! LOL!

And I'm not worried about the decals Bill. :)

I dont think anything is going to be happening on a. Federal level any time soon, i think we may have driven the point home about voting out those who voted for any sort of weapons ban. The registering of firearms does seem to be more for future use as in confiscating them instead of to try and stop another shooting like up here in Newtown. They are sayin theres anywhere from 50,000 to 350,000 people who have opted NOT to register their guns and / magazines... Im waiting to see how the state handles this. Im trying to think of how they would house that many new inmates...lol "hey governor Malloy, we're gonna need a bigger prison" lol things should get a little better come 2016 once all the traitors are voted out. But then again, one can be as bad as or worse than the other so.... Hopefully at least lessons will be learned!

That is why I am thinking that NY will not be my home for all that much longer.

I had a long rant typed up, but it will get me nowhere. Just that I'm not happy.

Now they won't let you buy ammo until you provide them with the serial number for the gun you intend to use it in. What if I have several guns that use the same rounds? Walmart pulled this garbage last week. Went in for a box of shotgun shells an they wouldn't sell them to me until I supplied a serial number. Told them NYS can kiss my *** and left.

Doctors are starting to refuse treatment until you sign a waiver listing all your owned firearms saying they aren't repsonsible for your actions on the medication you are giving and then they send it right to Albany in their registration list and I'm not registering nothing; you c*** suckers don't need to know what the hell I own. And yes I do carry an AK in my vehicle at all times and yes it's fully automatic, yes its fully loaded with just about everything thats fully illegal now due to the safe act and yes the government knows I have it and was bought before that ban with full papers and a preban waiver allowing me to have it the way I do. Same with my SKS, M16 and AR. So suck it. Arrest me and I will take you to federal court for violating my constitutional right to bear arms.

New Yorkistan can kiss my dead ***. I'm a felon because I have several hundred 30 round magazines bought 35 years ago. This state is a f***ing joke. You can pass an anti gun law because they look scary in 20 minutes but it takes you a week to move a damn stop sign 20 yards...assault weapon my ***, I can assault you with a f***ing hammer and does that make it an assault weapon? Needless to say I can't wait to get the hell out of here and move to Texas.

Sorry for the language but I am very strongly opinionated on this....

I'd love to hear what you were gonna say dirtweed. I knew from Joe's posts,it was bad up there,,but what slash said. WOW. One guy told me in Texas,if you AREN"T armed,,you pay extra tax! Because the state is theoretically protecting you rather than you being pro active for yourself. They WANT you armed. And if you do wrong with that gun. They're gonna kill you . No jail time, you're gonna die! I love it! No wonder Joe might move there! Sounds like my kind of thinking..

Illinois doesn't even issue carry permits...only allowed in home or business. I honestly would not feel safe living in a state that didn't allow me the right to carry.

NY residents answer a question for me...I was told you have to have a permit to purchase pepper spray in NY. Is that correct?

EDIT: I found a link to answer my own question...

We don't encourage "coming out of the closet" we typically "tell it like it is" whether it offends some PC correct teat sucking, sniveler. We don't lie about who we are or what we do, while posting from 3 different regions in the country, we still like our good ole conservative ideas, and enjoy over 20 three wheeler race venue's per year.

I wrote that and i apologize that i didn't explain it more. My wife and i drive to Illinois a couple times a year to visit our family and driving 80 across Ohio is the most boring section of road i've ever driven. I spend a lot of time behind the steering wheel, i usually drive to FL and back 4-6 round trips per year and ohio is the only area where i get fidgety. I didn't mean anything negative about your state or politics, just that 80 is a boring road. Sorry if you took it the wrong way.

Im confused about what you said though, what did you mean by the posting from 3 different areas

Mrs. Mosh, your link is correct, pepper spray is legal here with restrictions. I bought my wife a pepper spray that is in the shape of a lipstick container so she can take it with her in her purse wherever she goes and i just bought one that straps to her palm for when she goes running.

We live in Erie county and the pistol permit process takes over a year now. 2 miles down the road in wyoming county it is 3 weeks. Erie county is terrible, if i wasn't attached to my property and my neighbors i'd have moved years ago. I do think of moving from time to time, if it gets much worse here it may just happen

I like the palm strap idea for running.
I have seen knives that look like lipstick, but not pepper spray. Interesting.

I prefer to have the larger canister, but those are nice discreet options! Thanks for sharing.

It is all good man. I took it tongue and cheek anyway. It was just a comedic response considering the crap you guys endure up there and this thread prompted me to regurgitate it. It was all in good ribbing.

I have been through the rural areas of New york state many times and it is a beautiful area. It is a shame they are so harsh on you guys, and I would take a wooden 20ft sailboat in shark infested waters around NYC if I had to pass through that place one more time in my life.

The other posting from 3 different areas comment ain't you.

I couldn't agree more Mosh. This is how bad things here in CT are... in the last election for our state senators, one of the candidates, a real liberal D-bag named Chris Murphy, made a statement about the town I live in and said something like, "Oh yeah, Oxford... where all the pick ups have gun racks in the back windows" ... then this D bag gets elected because Linda McMahon cant keep her big fat WrestleMania mouth shut and let him bury himself! They had such a mud slinging race, ,in the end, he won because his mud was slung a little harder than hers.. had she NOT participated in the slinging I think more people, especially the women, would have voted for her. Any way, this Murphy kid even had the balls to go to a fund raiser for (I forget what it was for, it wasn't political or anything) and refused to pay to get in because as he stated, "im not here to eat or anything, im just gonna hand out a few flyers and leave"..

I didn't know that was part of the SAFE Act. Now there is my impetus to go to to Trikefest this year. On the way back I am going to load up on Ammo at Cabelas in Ohio!

Don't the Feds already have our serial numbers from the background checks that they have to do?

The 4473 forms(the one you fill out when you purchase a firearm) are supposed to be destroyed after a certain period of time and/or not used as a data collection tool, ie tracking of firearms purchased by individuals. I have a hard time believing it.

That is great that you live in a safe area. My small town is actually pretty safe too for the most part. But to believe that everybody you come in contact is an honest, God fearing, moral, upstanding human being is ...well,...foolish if you ask me. Don't take that the wrong way, there are a lot of good people out there. I probably sound paranoid, but oh well. In this day you have to be a little.

I don't worry about being safe when I leave my house..but I like to be aware of surroundings and ready for anything. I have had one too many encounters with less than friendly people in person, and nut jobs on the internet, not to protect myself. (One particular crazy hot head who liked to cuss, threaten and even say he would throw my friends in a chipper shredder....ya, nuts!)

By the time my daughter is old enough to carry, I will be right there with her helping her. The current day is messed up..I really fear for my kids!
