Today, I finally get into my 85 tecate motor (I've had all the parts I need for like 2 months now) to replace bearings/seals, and rod. I had figured as long as I'm going to have it apart I might as well replace as many things as possible, so like an idiot I buy a sleeved kx cylinder, piston kit, and a bunch of other stuff... I open the motor up taday and.... Its already got a sleeved cylinder, in perfect shape, with what looks like a wiseco with like 5 hours on it.....Guess I should have looked before I bought all these parts.... Now I have a couple hundred dollars worth of stuff that I dont need...

Well at least there's nothing wrong with it and now you know exactly what kind of shape the motor is in. You'd have no trouble selling that stuff on here i'm sure or just keep it for when you "really" need it. lol :-P

Take it from the Ace Mon having a spare cyl and piston around is a good thing . ! I wouldnt kick myself and call it wasted money , I would call it planning ahead !
