I have a DG exhaust where can I get or a spark arrestor for it or what can I put on it???

Hello ATC90JAY;

This is the cheapest i could find. It will require some pipe mod to connect it from your existing head pipe to the silencer. the silencer might need a custom bracket too.

You will need to rejet your bike with this and most any pipe or silencer change.

DG makes a metal mesh cone spark arrestor for their exhausts. I think i saw them on Dennis Kirks..

There was a thread on her a little while ago (just searched, but can't find it) about using a stainless steel sink strainer for a spark arrestor. It contained a link to something like this:

That strainer is 4 1/2". There's another one on that page under "Frequently Bought Together" that's 3".

I don't know what your DG exhaust is like, or how it would mount... but just throwing that out there.

Unless the law has changed, it must say "USFS APPROVED" or "US FORRESTRY SERVICE APPROVED" on it or you can get up to maybe a $10,000.00 fine. Yup!

I recommend you find out the law exactly. Companies used to pay big bucks to have the USFS license.

Even if your silencer has the USFS stamp, they still check to see if the spark arrestor is still in place and in tact.

No US Forestry stamp as barnett claims. Yet still legal.I can tell you from personal experience that if either your pipe or your actual arrestor does does have the USFS stamp, its not approved by the USFS, and you CAN get a ticket if the ranger has a bad day.

I guess it all depends on whether or not you want to take the chance. Personally if I were spending the money, I'd get one that I don't have to wonder about.

Wow ya'll get it hard down there eh, up here in Ontario we never have a problem with anything being to loud...I've never even heard of a fella on a trike or quad get a ticket like that.... Now they do harp on our sleds tho as soon as it Dosent sound stock anymore...she's ticket time lol

I have been working with DG for about a year now to redesign the 200X exhaust to incorporate a spark arrestor. They tell me their engineers are working on it. But they have not had enough call for them to pursue the redesign. So let all of us 200X owners call them and start asking for it.
