That's defiantly a rare breed right there.
As much as I would like it to be some eye candy and hang it above the fireplace I couldn't possibly own such an expensive and good looking machine and not be able to ride it. I'd rather have 8 beat up riders.

What tipped you off that it was a restoration bkm? I couldn't see anything but then again I'm not a 3rd gen expert

Rear fenders aren't original 86's, they're Honda, just later production, the kicker and rear brake pedal have been painted or powdercoated, originally they had a greenish rainbow type zinc coating, the engine color is wrong also along with the calipers, its to light and glossy.

Very nice bike, but its being misrepresented.

I agree with bkm, rear tires are NOS or are certainly newer than the front which is clearly worn, engine/caliper colour is WAY off, exhaust is pitted, green stator cover gasket(original Honda gaskets were black and were not superseded with green until years later), the finish on the kicker, brake and shifter and various other small items on these machines is called olive pasivate, the foot peg pivot pins and springs should also be olive The 250r decal on the front fender looks to be too far forward but Honda were never too consistent with decal placement.
