I picked this up from a guy off the board that lives close by. After a few hours of a little elbow grease I think it turned out pretty good.. Just thought I'd share..

I used a medium reducer from auto parts store and a plastic scraper. Soak a rag and let it sit on the plastic for a bit and start scrapping.. good luck...

Looks nice, was that painted before ? Howd you clean it up? I have an 85 headlight shell that was painted and looks like that lol was going to just use lacquer thinner on a rag and lay it over the shell to soak. Is that simar to what you did?

*edit. Just saw your post that sounds good! I will try that out

JasonB exactly what I did, the paint was on there for a long time I think. I soaked rag in the medium reducer and let sit on the paint for a bit and then took a plastic scrapper came off fairly easy considering... You might want to make sure the lacquer thinner wont hurt the plastic..

Did you do anything else to the plastic to polish it up or anything? Your shell looks really nice

Not really, scrubbed it with hot water and dish soap afterwards..

Have you guys ever seen aircraft paint stripper at auto zone or other auto parts stores? That stuff is amazing and it seems no matter how long I leave it on, it doesn't damage the plastic and the paint literally falls off. Definitely something to look into.

Thank you for posting that info, I have said this many times but no one seems to trust the fact!!! Jason if you would like send me your part, I will take care of it free of charge along with polishing it out for you.. stripper works within seconds did a complete bike in three hours that was camo under fenders as well.. DO NOT USE STRIPPER ON ANYTHING THATS METEL TRYING TO GET TO ORIGNAL PAINT unless you want bare metal.
