View Full Version : leaking fuel from overflow

so i just got a brand new mikuni carb and its leaking fuel from the overflow whats could be going on. I put the oem carb back on and its doing the same thing ive taking the thing apart like 4 times and cant get it to stop what should i do im very annoyed and tired of wastin gas lol please help

It is most likely one of the following: sticking float, improper float level, bad float, or a bad needle/seat.

We just had a guy on here that connected his fuel line to a vent outlet a few weeks back and had the same thing happen. Double check that and let us know what you find.

If you posted a photo I could say for sure, but short of that there should be one brass tube that feeds to the needle and seat assy (the part that the float moves up and down) That is where the fuel line goes.

To be 100% sure, pull the carb, take the bowl off and with the floats hanging down blow in the hole. Air should pass by the needle. If you had the line on correctly then make sure the needle and seat are sealing by raising the floats with your hand while blowing. The air should stop when you do this.
