my names Colby and this will be the second attempt to tell everyone hello and to tell my little trike story. I recently bought a 1981 185s from my brother-in-law he is only like 13-15 don't remember. Anyways he was trying to trade this thing off on one of those Facebook buy sell trade things so I decided to have my wife offer his $100 for it. she then turns and calls he mother and tells her that we will give him 75 and she would give the rest to there mother and he took it! I don't understand but whatever haha so I decide to find info about it and here I am after four days and one or two work nights later and I decide to join and get in on the fun. Im currently in NC and the trike is in the good ole KY http://www.3wheelerworld.com/images/smilies/naughty.gifhttp://www.3wheelerworldforums.com/images/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif. I want to do so much to it but I thought I should ask should I mod or should I keep it original? I would love to build this little sleeper trike and just mess with people heads but I want to have some fun so here I am. give me as much advice as you can because this is my first trike and I want to have fun and let my kids have fun with it. Thank you to everyone and cheers!

Welcome to the boards! My brother and I had A LOT of fun on his 200s when we first started riding, those unsuspended bikes (185/200) are a blast to run around on. I might have missed it but what condition is it in? throw some pics up if you can, theres plenty of into around here about the 185s!

Looks like a pretty damn good deal for $75! I'd leave it stock for awhile, ride the snot out of it and keep up with your maintenance. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with the level of fun you can have with those in stock form.
Then after you aquire 3 or 4 more, yep it's gonna happen, then I'd decide if you want to mod it.

Upgrade the front sprocket by one tooth. Oem is 11 so put a 12 tooth on the front. Also put an xr200cam. Trust me . It's thing like this that gave me alot of power on my 185s

Yea ive already been searching for more :) I thought about waiting to mod it and ride the snot out of it to let my wife have fun with it. I cant wait to go home finally and ride it they said they took the pull start apart because I guess the a spring broke that the pull start needs and it runs and rides. looking for a couple 70s or something I can find for the kids and bam! family ride haha this thing is gonna be awesome!!!!!
