I have just about finished the rebuild on my son's 1985 big red 250es. In assembling the carburetor I realized that the choke cable would not remain tight. According to the parts list mine is missing a spring just above the plunger assembly. Does anyone have one of these springs they would like to part with? Otherwise I have to buy the entire choke assembly from Honda as they do not sell the spring separately. If not then maybe someone knows the dimensions of the spring and I can match it.

I'm not sure if yours is like my 83 200e, but on the cable head (part you pull) there is a small BB in there to keep choke on when pulled. I lost mine, pretty pissed haha.

Not sure what the Honda shop is charging but here is a choke kit for about $25 on Ebay... I need a new spring myself.

Thanks Motorgidd. That looks like the solution.
