i have had issues getting into and out of gear. i removed the right crankcase cover to see what i could see and the shift drum has probably a quarter turn play in it and in order to into or out of gear it takes multiple attempts at operation of the foot shifter to do so. what is going on i need help engine has been in and out of shops getting rebuilt little by little for the past year. i havent even got a chance to ride it. runs great just doesnt move too well also upon hard acceleration and at other completely random times it likes to fall out of gear to nuetral without the nuetral indicator light illuminateing. pleae help i just wanna have fun. lol brand new top end, ebay shift forks, new clutch plates, complete engine tear down 1 year ago and was inspected piece by piece with determination made that everything was good to go. what now.

No problem, search for sx shifting problems there's a couple there. I just fixed mine again, pin #8 had come loose allowing the star to rotate

Yep, need to remove starter gears ,shifter, foot peg and case cover. Realy easy, just DO NOTremove the three allen heads on output shaft.

Nope, both pins and gasket cost me $32 from honda. Last time I did mine I didn't even drain the oil. I just put her on her side and leveled it out with a jack stand.

19 was replaced already when the case was cracked open once already.

good to know about the cost we got a honda dealer right close to me. ill check everything out tonight honestly im better its pin 8 lol. from the right side i litterally can grab part 23 and play with the shift drum lol. the shift lever it solid and has no play in it. im betting on part 8. but we shall see.
