hey everyone, just looking for a little help with an 85 KXT.

welcome to the boards! what kinda help you looking for? WHats done to the bike and whats the goal?

as far as i can tell someone extended the swingarm about 2 inches other than that it looks pretty stock. brakes all work etc.
but has a nice hole in the front of the block from the connecting rod from PO.
i want to swap in a motor.. any motor. im leaning 4 stroke but i dont care at this point.
any ideas?

As far as i know there are little or no 250cc DOHC Tecates out there. (obviously can't be sure)

it was a long cold winter. i had the trike in question and an 87 883 sportster engine and frame.
and i started thinking dirty thoughts...
it all almost went under the knife. if i could have figured out the right hand drive thing.

You two stroke guys need to get with the program.
Not sure what the stock 85 tecate puts out for power, but the new kx250f has been dynoed (by yours truly) at 40 horsepower, and unlike a torque less 2 stroke, that power is use able at all rpms.


People are trading in their 450s after they ride the new 250. It has amazing power, and it would make a tecate scream.

And don't worry, there will be pics.

Oh OK so it feels like when you tell me about putting a 200cc Yamaha two stroke in to my favorite model Honda four stroke trike, see now I get what you are saying :cry::cry::lol::lol:
