Im running stock 85 z forks on a fat tired motorcycle TW200 and was wondering if yall can give me some advice on setting it up.
Im 230 lbs, riding mostly trails fairly fast but not taking enormous jumps or anything. With stock forks im not bottoming often, but im using nearly all of the travel with just casual riding, periodically it does bottom. When I brake hard it dives alot. I realize this is an iteritive process to dial it in but was hoping you could help me by giving me a good place to start.

My first guess was that I should go with 3 inch spacers, 15w fork oil. And leave the stock springs for the moment. Heres what id like to know?

How much oil should I add?
What weight? What brand? Is atf a viable fork oil?
Are 3 inch spacers with stock springs about right?
How much air pressure should I start with?
How much do progressive springs help?
Do I understand correctly that 1 inch pvc is what folks are using to make spacers?

Thanks for your help

2-3/4" to 3" x 1"PVC makes em stiffer and Progressive replacements go for around $100. Oil is preference personal, or dealer shelf selection. ATF? In a pinch finishing the Baja it most likely would work but stick to a brand/weight, your not saving any money with ATF.
