What year 250r is this

He said it was a 85 but I thought it looked like 84 with the tank and if it was 84 it would be air cooled correct? He asking 800 says runs well we will see if I can get him down to 600 or so looks like it has had a rough life

It's an 83 or 84. It is definitely air cooled, you can see the fins on the engine and no radiators.

Edit: it also doesn't look like it has any front brakes. I don't see a caliper or disc, and the brake line from the front master runs backward to nowhere.

Looks like the rear brake pedal and parts are missing too. I bet he has the front brake master cylinder operating the rear brake caliper..

Check the swingarm it looks like it may have been broke and welded.

Tenth digit of the vin will tell you the year. D=83,,,,E=84.

Its worth the money from where I'm sitting but I bet he takes your offer.

It's an 84, or certainly an 84 swing arm, the shock linkages and shock are different and attach to the swing arm in a different position. The axle lock nut has a spacer fitted between the nuts and disc hub, this is also something I have only ever seen on the 84r. Front fender is 200x.
In my opinion $800 is too much

Gosh I love the Like button lol. Saves from posting so much. Like Nik said, the Pro Link on a 84 reaches up and out of the swingarm. The 83 is down in much further toward the skid plate.

That metal mulisha crap knocks another 100$ off the price tag lol. That bike needs alot of attention id pass unless you can get it for like 400 or less
