Got it a few days ago from a guy in locksburg. It road good and looked great for $1300 a steal aroun here. When I got it home I imedietly unloaded it an road it to my friends house about a 1/2 mile from my house. Well when I was about ready to leave there it kept falling on its face. So me and my friend started looking it over more and found out it was missing a screw out of the carb bowel and took the seat off and there was a mouse nest in the box and the boot that connected the air box to the frame was rotted off. So we found a screw for it and he gave me another boot. Still couldnt getting it running. So I pushed it back home and dug into the carb and the gas had turned into jelly. Got the carb all cleaned out. And put silicone on the 185 boot adjusted the carb and she purrs like a kitten now 192818192818

Too bad it didn't act up like that when you test rode it..you could've beat the seller down a bit on his price.

I remember a few years back when a clean 200x was a $500 machine..man they have gone up!!

I think he was just trying to get his money back in the deal. All new majer plastics even has to rear disk break protector from majer and it is pretty clean. But now I know to look 100 harder before I buy lol

Very nice 1st gen there, 84 I reckon..... looks to be not a bunch of hours on it either.

Don't sweat the price now man you already bought it. They're easy to find, but hard to find in that condition. Just go enjoy it!!!!!

I second that, hard to imagine a 1st gen 200x for $1300 being a steal. I have a nice 1st gen that I will be selling soon that is in great shape with brand new tires and I doubt I will get over $800 for it.

Nice looking bike though OP, should be good fun.

Thanks guys. It's the first 3 wheeler I've had with suspension so it's an awesome plus lmao. It is a 84. And goes about as fast I'd want to go where I ride at lol.

Get use to the rising prices for trikes as nice as the one he just bought.

Take a look at the wear on the left side engine cover/case saver. I dont think anyone said it was a steal but it sure wasnt a loss.

There are 1st gen 200x's for sale here in the land of trikes aplenty anywhere from 300 to 2300.

If youre one of those guys that says he wouldnt pay over $1000 for a NICE 1st gen X then you might just be out of the market for a nice 1st gen X soon.

He actually did say it was a steal in his first post lol. Where I live I would not pay over $1000 for a nice 1st gen 200x. I buy a lot of bikes and 200x's are one of the most commons ones I buy but I can tell you I have never been able to sell one for more than $800 around here. My point, actually M.Pargiello's point that I was agreeing with, is that regional price differences are vast. It seems like you read my post with a negative connotation when I can assure you there was none.

The most common bikes around here are 185s and 200 big reds. There are a few 110s, 250 big reds, and I know of only 1 82-83 250r and my friend has the only 250sx I've seen around here. most of them sadly are beat up or have been sitting under a tree for the past 20 years. So when I saw this one and knew how long it had been sitting in the guys front yard for a year or so I jumped on it when I had the money lol. Just having suspension is awesome.

I picked my 84 up for $100 not running and needing work. But good runners around my area are selling for more than $1300 for a nice one. Average price is around $800-$1000.Iv seen a couple that the seller is asking over $2000 and its a primo second gen 200x.

I just dont see the point in even saying it wasnt a steal other than to rain on someones parade. I knew this thread would end up being all about how much he paid for his trike as soon as i saw the first post.

Yes price differences are vast, even in one area. His X looks to be in excellent condition, and could easily be listed at 1300 or higher anywhere ive looked. Doesnt mean its the price of a 200x, just means its the price of that particular 200x. I dont see many at all in that condition for less than a thousand, and i see piles of junk go for over a thousand.

My entire point is, hey, nice 200x, whats next? Whatcha gonna do with it? Gonna mod it?......or do we wanna talk about how much you paid for it for another couple days....

Lol price didn't bother me much because I sold two big reds that were in ok condition and one didn't run. And a 110 that was pretty nice. I felt like it was a good trade. Anyways lol I'm gonna get wider wheels and smaller tires I think it has 21 on it now and it feels kind of tippy the tires on it have a super soft sidewalls. Any ideas on the tires I should get? And a six pack rack and a front light cage if I can find one. wouldn't mind it being wider. Has anyone put a xr cam on one?

I do not know how I could make this any clearer. I did not say it wasn't a steal. My comment was in relation only to the geographical price differences and had nothing to do with the price that was paid for that particular machine. There was certainly no attempt at raining on anyones parade and it was simply a side conversation. I actually complimented the bike in my original post.

Nice 200X! Definitely check the classifieds for accessories, you should be able to find a six pack rack and a front headlight guard.

Good luck!

Cool.

I'd love an X. You simply don't see them over here in the UK very often.

That one would be a fortune over here - I reckon it would sell on Ebay for around $2500 - $3000. Very possibly more with the right people bidding for it.

That bike is really clean man I think you did well. All the good bike have small problems like that take my atc 90 for example it was in similar shape but the air filter was the original from 1978 and the carb needed a good cleaning among some other little things.

Excellent score!!! That's a clean bike man, and there are always individuals out there that think they could have gotten it for cheaper, or say it's not worth what you paid, or will find little things wrong with your deal, but the main thing is that you are happy with your purchase. She's CLEAN and looks like the guy that had it tried to take care of it... I think you did great.... I hope you get many years of fun and excitement out of that bike and that you can find all the mods.. and the parts that you are looking for!!!

I have been looking to get another 200x around me as I sold mine about a year ago and I can not find any for sale really other than extremely clean ones for top dollar
