I must be crazy, but I went to change the oil on my '84 110, and couldn't remove the drain plug because the exhaust pipe was blocking it*. Maybe I installed it slightly "off", but don't recall the ability to "clock" the pipe during installation. I'm not sure if it was that way or not when I bought it because it didn't run, and I had to remove the engine before I'd ever had a chance to change the oil on it.

Anyone else run into this before? I'm assuming this was NOT the setup from the factory, as the manual doesn't mention any special procedures other than "remove the drain plug bolt".

*There's 2 bolts on the bottom of the engine that appear to possibly be engine oil drain bolts. One of them is angled forward a bit with a 12mm hex, and it's my understanding that it's the cover to the timing chain tensioner adjustment. The other one points straight down and is a 14mm hex IIRC.

Exhaust is supposed to run on top of the foot peg and no were near the drain bolt . Drain bolt should have a 17mm head .
Got pictures ?

This part I AM sure of - It certainly was NOT run over the footpeg when I bought it.

Yep the pictures tell the story  .
custom exhaust routed the wrong way . Loosen up the head pipe and you might be able to drain the oil ?

Good to know. It had a wooden handle on the pull start when I bought it too (and the shaved fenders :( ). Thanks for the info. Anything can be bent out of the way with a hot wrench :) (one-time removal necessary of course). I'll deal with it another day.
