View Full Version : 86 250r Water pump mechanical seal?

Hey guys.. got everything else in but the mechanical seal.. i barely tried as i don't wanna bend it. Whats a good way to get this in there?

If that's a new seal and cup, get a socket that fits in the cup and knock it in.

I was going to but wasn't sure if it would bend it.. so i'm for surely ok with using a socket?

Yes, that's how I put them on. Just lay the cover on a firm flat surface. The cup is a more robust than you think. A few good whacks and it should seat right in.

The socket should fit around the rim of the cup not inside it.
