This whole having to have a certain amount of posts to post any where but here is kinda dumb. I see the point to keep spammers down but it also will turn away a lot of people just for the stupid inconvenience of it. Ground rules have been set.. No?... Regular douchebaggery will not be tolerated and banning May occur. Mods just need to do what they are there for and actually use they power you have. Rant over thanks for sharing in my way to raise post counts lol..

Oh and I'm listening to this.

Yeah I have been on here for years and didnt know about this but it makes sense from different points mostly i think its about scammers who try to sell things that dont exist or somethin? It's about joining the community and showing you are serious and probably to support the site. I bet though a lot of newbs dont get their questions answered cause people dont look in here. I just started lookin in here and wondered how many people got discouraged and left the site, but what other 3 wheeler site is there? LOL

It's worth the wait. There's enough to do on the board to get by till your trial is done.
I was still on here everyday during my trial

Being a new member as well, I have to say that I also got a bit discouraged by this.
But I agree with the precedings 100% as this indeed cuts down a lot on the spamming/scumming side of things..
I have been a member of various "interest" forums and the amount of sh!t I have seen going on them occasionally is ridiculous. A little moderation goes a long way to keep everybody in check...
Myself I much rather wait for a while and have a "safe" and "clean" environment around my interest.
Cheers!
Chris
PS. The threads in this area WILL come up at any search for "new posts" or "today's posts". So older and newer member will find them as easy as any other place of the site...

Most of these kind of threads complaining about the whole probation period and post count get deleted.
We have all been there, if you enjoy the site, you will stick around. If you need the information, you will also stick around.

Another tip, don't spam, you'll have all your posts removed and be back at square one. And probably some funny user title.

But on a serious note, it goes by quick. Just keep posting when you can, where you can, and before you know it it'll be over.

Ghost is right, keep a cool head, be patient and enjoy the ride; It's worth it. Nothing worse than getting your post count knocked down over BS threads or losing your cool. It's no way to introduce yourself to the community. Welcome BTW!

Fact here ar 3WW:

Impatient people sometimes have a propensity for being short-tempered, seek instant gratification, have problems paying attention, wont read entire threads before inserting redundant and previously covered material as a thread reply, wont take the time to read a free service manual, and expect immediate and thourough answers to questions that have been answered in older threads not to mention lacking the tendency to actually USE the search feature before posting redundancy.

This isnt directed at you, sir. This has been the case most of the time for many years. The Mods have worked.hard to find a way to keep new members from boring the old and experienced from leaving here for more challenging pastures. The impatient and quick tempered usually get upset and leave early which kind of solves the problem.

Its definitely worth the wait. Just be patient and after a couple years here, you will get sick of redundancy and so forth as well at which time these rules will make perfect sense.

I promise we aren't snobs or an exclusive club playing power trip games. Its just the best solution we have come up with thus far to keep the place interesting and compelling for our veteran membership. As for the site Mods, they are swamped with lives, day jobs, families, and hobbies making moderating a tireless and unappreciated VOLUNTEER job. We try not to ask any more of these guys/ gals than they already give which is quite a bit.

Just hang tight, post up your trikes, and I promise you won't be sorry.

WELCOME TO THE BOARDS!!!!

Indeed gents. No offense taken at all. I'll be sticking around for sure. I was just in a frisky mood and took a jest full poke lol. I was actually surprised it got posted and not deleted and makes me respect this forum more and I hope others see this and take note. Some things are worth the wait.

There have been members that have started up real shlt over the probation rule..whine, piss and moan. Call out the mods and berate the site for having their hands tied for 2 months..

Those guys often get run out by the members way before the mods get to them!!! Pretty smart way of managing really..a guy that gets slapped by the mods gets his dander up even more. But a guy who gets circle booted by a bunch of members usually never comes back. The mod seldom have to step in..

Your post wasn't that offensive..just stating your opinion. Everyone has the right to one of those..it's the line between opinion and attitude that gets the new members in trouble.

This is the best complaint thread I've seen to date. Here's my synopsis.

O.P. "Hey, this post count rule sucks. Here's why"
3WW Members. "Ya, we know. Here's why it's done this way. And here, is why you don't complain anymore."
O.P. "OK that makes total sense. Thanks."

Beautiful. And now I will ad what I'm hoping other new members may also be thinking after reading,,,

"Wow, these guys are smart. Now I REALLY can't wait to be a full member, it will be SOOOO worth the wait!"

I've never seen spam posted on here and no one has ever hacked my 3WW account. Wish I could say the same of other sites. These guys have good rules.

Post a few more times and soon you'll be a free man.

I was lucky when I joined it was before the new membership rules, but if I would have had to go through the motions like the new members, I would have without a hitch just for my love of three wheelers.

As a newb, I was surprised at this probation period, but I have gotten past it and still only post in the new member section. Plenty of experienced guys have answered my questions. Seems like most of the guys here really enjoy helping out others who don't know as much about trikes. I'm now a fan of the probation period.

Roger that muthey. It's funny when I look back at some of my original posts I was a dummy. I definitely should've been on probation for my own good. I've learned a lot since then.

I cant wait until Im a full member and can post to the other forums as well... this waiting stuff sux!

Wait..what? I have been a full member for months now? I could h ave been posting all over this site for how long? What??

lol.. ok I knew that.. just messing around. Hey the best thing to do while waiting is NOT to go looking at the parts of the site you cant post on cause it will only make you mental... just post here daily, help when you can and ask questions if you need to, you'll be in the rest of the site in no time!

YES.....and a very FINE classified section at that......lots of stuff available and once you get full access, if you don`t see the part you need, ASK for it......someone is bound to have an extra....be absolutely sure to read the Classified Section rules FIRST before you post and you`ll be just fine

welcome!

Well I've managed to ride the brakes off my 200s lol. I just got done putting on the new ones and she is back in action agian. Woohoo!! Oooooh how I miss the feeling of ripping through my little track. Although I'm at an impasse... I have finished the build stage of my GF's cl350 bobber and the motor will be a while to rebuild. I am thinking of sticking the 200s engine in the CL frame just for her to learn on at first. It would be easier no doubt and it is just to use around town so speeds of 45 or less. What do you all think.? I mean I know the are some purist here and prolly don't like the idea at all but it will go back into the trike once the 350 is rebuilt. I still have the klt to ride at least lol.

I say go for it because if you make a clean conversion, it opens doors for the reverse,,, cl350 motor in the 200 series trikes.

I have reinforced the rear down tube with a 2" strap steel. I then reinforced the swinger to keep the it from bending under the added stress from the pivot points changing. Lowered the rear of the tank about 1/2" and the seat is mounted on a custom made leaf pack made from a set of ford truck springs. I sit and look at the rolling chassis in the garage all day everyday and I just want to take it out so bad. Plus I think the look of a clutch less, pull start in that stripped down chassis would just look amazing and be a major convo piece.
The day it arrived. I paid a whole whopping $50

looking great... no rear fender? I like the cut rer fenders too.... what a good looking bike. cant wait to see it done! I like the way it looks without the upper supports for the swing arm... you don't see that... really neat looking.

Yeah I was going to go with a mono shock style conversion using both original shocks but then looking at it and all the other bikes I've seen, the floating seat just had to be done. The open triangle that all the cafe racers go for just looks so messy and unimaginative. I wanted it to be low clean and simple and that's what it is.

czac
08-28-2014, 02:09 PM
yeah it does look cool like that. are you putting a rear fender on it? it might look nice with one. esp if it hugs the tire really close.

Yes it will have a fender along with a old 1950's single filament bulb tail light I'm converting to LED tail and brake light.
