Just picked up this beauty for $500.
Runs, needs a new carb/rebuild, carb dumps lots of fuel out the overflow & idle is all over the place
Rear brakes don't work
New front brake, works great
headlight works, electric start works, manual start works
Shifts and starts great
needs an oil change
back wheels are a little sloppy, lots of play, hub looks okay, just looks like its missing a spacer or something?
Any tips or info would be greatly appreciated. Service info? Just downloaded the ATC service manual from some website & looks very informative!
1 question - How do i adjust the valve properly & what is the clearance supposed to be?196931196930

Nice looking rig! Keep those fenders nice, they're getting hard to find.
There's an article on the valves… hold on I'll try to find it…
** it seems the article was on 3w.org and is now MIA. That info should be in you service manual anyway.

yea i figured it would be there, its just so damn big haha hard to navigate it.... i think i wanna get a printed copy as its so much easier.
The fender on the left side, or drivers side on a vehicle, is pretty trailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro but the passenger side is good. front fender is ok, just bent a little. Overall its in good shape. Just ordered a carb from ebay for 50 shipped so we will seee how that works! Going to local bike shop today to pick up a new UNI air filter. Hopefully they have the right one. otherwise, another ebay order is going in! Need to pull apart the rear brake and see what needs replacing. Both cables are loose and may not be connected!

what brand was the carb because for aftermarket carbs I only buy wincycles carbs they are almost identical to the originals with Japanese carb kits installed and lifetime warranties.

no idea but its ordered and on the way so we will see how it works haha. Got a UNI air filter on order at the local shop too since he wrapped a cloth around the mount with an elastic for a "Filter" LOL

Check your rear axle carrier and make sure the right one is on there. Mine was trashed and I tried putting one on from a 200s and had the same problem. Check out post #5. Pic shows the difference in length/design. Wouldn't allow the axle nuts to tighten up enough to the carrier
