Hi guys, im wondering how to remove the carb on a 1983 Honda ATC 185s. My 185s is having idle problems, it will shut off almost right after I let off the throttle. I just bought this trike (also my first trike:cool:) and am doing some basic cleaning/restoring of it. If you can give me some directions as to how to remove the carb or a link to a youtube video or something that would be great. Thanks!

Welcome! A service manual is always a good idea.

The carb is attached between the air box and the intake.

Shut the fuel off.
Should be a Phillips ( metric) to loosen the airbox boot clamp.
Drain line can be left attached or removed.
Remove fuel line at the carb.
One 10mm nut on each side of the carb flange attaching it to the intake studs.
Work the carb loose from the boot and intake.
Unscrew the slide cap, carefully remove the throttle slide assembly, gently rest it.
Carb should be free and in your hand, unless there is a choke cable to remove.

Sometimes it helps to pop the air cleaner and cage off. It relieves some tension on the carb to air box boot.

Check out tommartyn (I think that is his name or something veryclose) he had a lot of helpful posts the 185s and 200s are just about the same trike. Also d-ray's shop has some good how to videos
