I have made my hitch ball bracket but still looking for a cargo rack

I see there are a few different ones ..,,,

Im not sure which one would work on my 200
I looked on the oem parts list and it doesn't show one for a plain 83 200....No letter
But there is one isted for the 200e

Could anyone help me determine which one i need to be looking for .....or.........do i just get one thsts in good shape and modify the mounts?

Thanks,
Mike

That's no 200e. 200e was the big red. This to me looks like a plain 200 with a 200s front end, maybe 200x tank, and who knows what else. What size are the tires? They look kinda big, if memory serves me right the 200 had 22" tires. Those look like 25 on the rear. As always, I could be wrong.

Yes you are right on a couple things

Vin# is telling me its a 1983 200

It has after market tires that are bigger than stock
It has a Clark plastic tank
Everything else looks like it should as per this photo

But when Look at the OEM parts list for the plain 200 it doesn't show a cargo rack for this model.....but does show one for the 200E....

Thanks,
Mike

It probably is, it had oem big red tires on it. I thought it was plastic but it looked painted and had decals on it. I figure if you do that to a plastic tank it wouldn't look that nice. Who knows I didn't take a good look at it. Plus I'm usually wrong lol.

Yep I see that, but you dont hear the A mentioned
None of the plastic is painted

Also on the parts diagram it doesn't show a rear cargo rack
But it shows one for the 200 e
They arent that much different are they?

no I don't understand why they did that but it is that bike. And the reason it does not show the rear rack is because the rack didn't came standard on the 83 200 but the rack on the 200e was standard. And yes the 200e is differnt it had electric start and a high low subtransmission. Also the frame was differnt.

So.....what do you think about the cargo rack ?

I see some photos of the plain 200 with racks on them.

I bought a 83 200 parts bike that had a rear rack on it . It was the one that had the long lower supports that screwed to the foot pegs . I think there is a hondaline rack for the older 185 ( the bigger bike not the s ) that will fit the big 200 as well . That rack sits more to the rear of the bike , not over the fenders .
