1986 atc 250sx I have no lights or starter but I can kick it and it will run. Any help thanks

Check the fuse back by the battery. That small red wire runs from the battery to the key switch. When you turn the key switch on, the black wire on the key switch carries battery power from the battery to the main harness where it branches out to the rest of the systems.

I checked it and there is now power coming from it.

That will do it. NOW!!!!! Get on Ebay and buy an ES key switch. DONT throw your old one away. The ES uses a 2 wire plug with 2 loose wires. The SX uses a 3 wire plug with 1 loose wire. Cut the plug off your old one and splice it on to the new one with the SX configuration. For about 40 bucks, that gives you a brand new switch with 2 keys and boots. The ES switch harness is a little longer than the SX. Since you're cutting the plug off anyway, just shorten the harness to match the length of the stock SX harness.
