View Full Version : Timing Procedure
Doing a piston ring job, never worked on small motors before, have some questions.
Will I need a ring compressor?
Will it need to be timed, or anything adjusted after put back together?
Thanks.

If it's a Tiger 500,search Tiger 500 rebuild. If it's a 200X Honda,search 200X Honda rebuild etc.. You need to provide much more information to get help. No,yu won't need a ring compressor.If it's 4 cycle,it will need timed,if it's a 2 cycle,no it won't.

Get a manual and do some searches on here. Below is a link on how to properly time your motor. 200x and 185s are the same procedure.

Thanks!
I looked a little bit, never could find much about it.
Hopefully I did that right, only thing I'm worried about is the pulse generator.
When I first took it off the springs inside of it were rusty and broken. Anyone know where I can get these?
Don't know the name of the inside piece.
