I had difficulty locating a VM22-SH carb for my YTM200 (the carb that came with the trike was damaged by the previous owner.). I purchased a new VM24 (spigot style, not bolt-on). I have it installed and the trike will idle now and runs quite well but I cannot use the factory air box. If I do, the trike won't idle but it will run if I apply some throttle. I don't really care to use the air box and have installed a 42mm air filter that slips(clamps) on the carb intake. Have any other YTM200 owners used this carb and if so what were your results. I am curious which pilot and main jet sizes I should be using (I live near Denver and at the "mile-high" altitude. I could use some tips as I am new to this trike.

What year and model it it. I have an 85 200ern with the vm22 and the main jet is 112.5 I would definitely find what jet it has in it and go from there. Maybe you can adjust the needle or pilot. You may have to rejet it. Also check your plug and see what it looks like.
