Shift shaft can be repaired if you have both pieces. I just repaired one 3 months ago. intake , we need to know what carb you are running the 200 used 2 different styles one that bolted on and the other was a clamp on carb. And for tires there were two different stock sizes for the 200's. 22-11-8, and 25-12-9.

This is the intake off the 83 YTM200k I parted out over the summer. Chain drive, pull start only. Look like what you need? Only fits this model and year.

Hi guys I'm new here. We just picked up a YTM200K Vin number 21V-004753 for $200. I'm assuming it's an 83. Pull start only.

We took the carb apart and thoroughly cleaned it, cleaned the air filter, ran new fuel lines and a new in-line fuel filter.

The tires are in pretty rough shape but with one new tube and some slime we were able to jump start it. It runs great now and starts on the first pull.

The problem is the pull cord and casing are gone so you have to wrap a rope and once started the wheel is exposed and rotating (dangerous).

The clutch seems to slip and engage, so any direction toward addressing that would be appreciated.

I'm having trouble finding a new choke cable.

I'm also having trouble finding a pull starter for it that is reasonably priced.

The two rear tires are in bad shape, so they will need replaced too if reasonably priced.

Any help would be great! Thanks

For your clutch you might need some new clutch plates. But first try adjusting them. On opposite side of the recoil is the clutch adjustment screw. Loosen the lock nut and spin the screw counter clockwise until you feel tension and then back it off a 1/8th and tighten down the nut again. See if that helps any.

Choke cable, you can look on eBay and get a used one. But I would just buy and brand new one from your Yamaha dealer or online. Here's a link. http://www.partzilla.com/parts/detail/yamaha/YP-21V-26331-02-00.html

Pull starters are usually around 100 bucks, but if you check eBay frequently you can get a good deal on them. Recently I saw a couple for 45 a piece. Just keep looking.

Tires, you should be able to find some fairly easily, new or used someone will have some.

Hey I'm new to the forum. I was wondering if the parts from an 83 ytm200e are interchangeable with an 83 ytm200ek

Didn’t know there was another 83 besides the 200K, but many of the parts interchange between the 83 to 86 200 and 225. Best way to know is to cross reference the part numbers between models using a Yamaha parts fiche.
