ytm 225 DR air filter guide

Does anyone know where i can get an air filter guide for my 1985 225 DR other than for $50 from Yamaha partshouse? I've found a couple of the guide plates on ebay but not much luck with the guide itself.

Good luck. I couldn't find one for my YTM 200 besides yamaha. I looked for a couple months and had no results. I just got a k&n free standing filter. Otherwise try some junk yards if you have any around. You might be able to pick one up there. Hope this helps.

So does this k&n basically just sit in the air box because I've looked at those and wondered how they attach to the intake?

they sit in the box and the back cover locks them into place. once you screw it in
