Hello. I am interested in finding out how I can build a trike in a 200s frame with a 200x top end and a high low sub transmission. I asked in another thread if it were possible to add a subtransmission from a 200e to a 200s motor, but got no reply. Maybe it's a dumb question idk... But I thought a bit about it and maybe my best bet would be to get a 200e motor with a bad top end. Replace the top end with a 200x top end and mount the motor in a 200s frame. That way I could have electric start as well. 200x power in a 200s frame with a 5 speed high and low range. Any knowledge shared is much appreciated.

Well, got a new idea.. Why not a reverse too...
'84 200es motor with 200x top end- xr200 piston, xr200 cam, possibly a stroker crank, xr200 carb and intake, port and polish head
200s frame, got a buddy talking about fabricating a swing arm.... Idk about the yet either but it would def be pretty sweet!
200x fork with front disk brake, 200es rear end

I'm open to suggestions and also very open to knowledge and/or advice!!!! Really

You know the ES is shaft drive and a hard tail.

How about a 230cc with electric start and reverse...

I just did it the easy way since my mechanical ability is limited to tasks such as changing spark plugs.....

only problem with that motor is its Chinese. What's your point? This motor ran perfectly for 1200 miles from Phoenix to Nebraska at 55mph without any mechanical issues whatsoever. I have done so many WOT straight up clutch dropping burnouts on concrete through second with the engine roaring that I can't even count them anymore. Nobody abuses their engines like I do. This engine is spectacular.

The 200 heads are all the same as far as ports and valves, only difference is a slight change to the shape of the bottom fin closest to the jug, and all but the 200X has a compression release (needed for a pull start with high compression). The XR carb, cam, and piston will give you plenty of power, for reasonable $$$. The stroker crank will have to be custom, because the 200X strokers won't fit in the auto clutch bottom ends. I'd just do the top end work, or go the DOHC route and bolt in 230cc's of e-start, reliable chinese goodness. A lifan will NOT disappoint! Check youtube for 230x videos, they are out there.
