Not been on in a long time. Thought I would say hi and show you what I have been doing. This is a 70 Oldsmobile 442 W-30. Been restoring it for 1.5 years now and have one year left. Start shooting interior color tomorrow and should be finished with all body paint in 3 weeks. I have been full bore Oldsmobiles since april of 2012. I still want to get back on a 3 wheeler but still going to be a while. I had picked up a 200X early this year and planed to rebuild it but ended up selling it to make room for more Oldsmobile parts. I have been all over this side of the country the past fiew years Oldsmobiling.
Here is a video of testing and tuning on the 455 and one on the dyno. Made 427 HP and 511 Torque. This is not inflated numbers with the typical Dyno tricks that Chevy guys like to do. Engine is Less compression than stock for modern fuel but just a little hotter cam than stock. Other than that it is entirly stock.

Awesome. You going to have it ready for MCACN in a couple of weeks. :)
Gotta love the "A" Bodies!

Cool! Maybe you can tell me if any parts from the 425 Olds fit the 455? I had one in a 67 Delta 88, it was a heck of a sleeper, but I never did the research on it like I did for the 410 Ford I had up a few years earlier.

Also what is safe redline on the Olds 455? The Pontiac 455 was really low, anything over 5,000rpm was danger zone, but I recall the 425 liked to rev.

No but the head guy wanted me to bring it for the barn find section when I first pulled it from the barn. He just ask if I was coming this year but i told him next year will be my first year.

The block and heads are the same as a 425. I have ran 455 Olds engines to 6000 in stock form but really shouldn't go over 5500. I guess it is not all stock, I went with lighter rods and pistons so I could safely run to 6000 with no worries. My peak HP is at 5200 so I don't need to go that high anyway. Peak Torque is at 3600 and stays above 430 all the way to 5000. Going to be a tire burner.

Mr. Jensen, are you the Eric Jensen of ESJ graphics?

(My bad, wrong last name)

Very nice restoration, are you going to drag race it or is it a street car. I think I remember a couple years ago a super stock class started up where you had to have all original drive train and tires, but could modify anything to whatever extent you wanted. Idk where I remember this from but it was an Oldsmobile guy, and he liked racing with the old bias ply tires because they would recover from wheel spin faster than radicals. Anyways, can't wait to see the finished product

Bob Ashton. Great guy and great show.

Here is my 72 Chevelle in the "Class of 72 Invitational" Display from a couple of years back.

Nice! I am looking forward to going next year. I will likely only be there to look around. We may take our 62 Jetfire to the World of wheels in Indy this year. I am not a big fan of that show but it is something to do in the winter months.

Thank You for using a Olds motor instead of dropping a LS1 chevy motor in it like tons of guys do these days.

Don't look like it would take this long but I have almost 30 hours in restoring and installing the dash and A/C assemblies.

Don't know if you know it or not but your wire routing for the Turbo400 kick down switch is incorrect...... JK :)

Looking good. It just takes time to do it right. They say 50% of the cars that are "Frame Off" never go back on the frame. Don't get in any hurry. You'll look up one day and you wont have anything else to do.

Car came out Awesome!
No one really knows what it takes to turn one out to that standard. It is a lot of hard work and effort.
Car Coral???? For Sale???
You should have it Judged and go for MCACN Gold! I may try to make it up there this year. If I do I will run you down. It is an awesome show. You know I'm a Chevelle Guy. They are going to have an LS-6 Display I would love to see.
