Hello all. New member here. I just picked up a 1984 200x with about 3 hours total use on it. The guy bought it new, got scared of it right away and stored it in his heated basement. I popped in here to gain some knowledge on it. I haven't done anything with it yet nor have a tried to start it. I need to drain and replace all the fluids, clean the carb and lube the cylinder before I do anything. I'm not quite sure what I will do with it. Either continue to store it or sell it. I doubt I will ride it though. It's just too nice.

Welcome. Nice 200x. I like the Grab-On's.
I still remember the ad they used to run in the mags. "Each grip contains 10,000 NITROGEN charged cells!"

My opinion: A machine that nice would be a shame to beat up and wear out. On the other hand, it would be a shame for it to never get ridden. That machine is definitely worth quite a bit of money (more so than a typical rider). I'd buy that one, do like you plan and change all the fluids and do all the necessary maintenance, but then just baby it. Get a second machine (if money and storage space permit) that is more of a rider and when you really want to beat on a machine, use that one. Honestly, I think you could find a good rider for $500. I know that is a lot of money, but I honestly think the one you just found is worth 4 times that (in my opinion). If it were up on e-bay, who knows how much it could go for. But you are right, that thing has been in a time capsule for sure!! VERY NICE FIND!!!

Well I put her up on Ebay to go fishing. I've received 15 offers that are just all over the place. I'd like to see what will happen with an auction. To those who contacted me with offer, good luck with the auction. :)

Right place at the right time!!!
Definitely one of the best. I couldn't own it, I don't try to break anything but I like to ride it.
