Hi, guys. When you guys assemble the case halves are you guys using any sealant on the gaskets. Thanks

No. Make sure your mating surfaces are clean, clean, clean and flat (did I mention clean?). Install with gasket dry. Some guys will put a light coat of motor oil on the side cover gaskets to make them easier to pull apart later, but the case halves aren't usually something you separate all the time.

In general, you don't need sealant anywhere except a few locations where the manual may call it out specifically. An example would be the cylinder head cover on the 350x. It has no gasket and calls for Hondabond (Yamabond, 3bond) non-hardening sealant (which by the way is NOT RTV). If you need to use a sealant for one reason or another, look for the hondabond type sealant.

I put my right side cover on yesterday and I used hondabond on the gasket. Just a small amount to make the gasket stick to the engine case. I also used it on my head cover today. It's good stuff...
