Has anyone watched the Late Late show with Craig Ferguson this week? It's the last week before his show goes off the air and Metallica is doing a weeklong residency as his musical guest. They're playing lots of older stuff too (IMHO their better stuff...pre-black album)!!!

i was a metallica disciple pre-black album. i liked burton but also really liked newsted. i checked out when that d-bag lars showed his true colors over the napster music sharing. also, hetfield got sober and they lost their edge. its a young mans game. how do they sound?

Thanks for the heads up! I'm not up on all the band politics but I do like a lot of their music. I seen them in Edmonton last time they came North. Loved that concert.

They sounded a little rough around the edges and the mixing could have used a little work, but all in all I was stoked to see them getting back to their roots and rocking some older stuff (they also played "for whom the bell tolls" on which Trujillo did a fantastic job with a sweet bass intro).

Not their greatest song, but a good live take...and I think Hammett lost his pick around 3:23 and still pulled it off.

I think the whole thing got blown way out of proportion...but I think he did have a point. These guys are musicians and that's how they earn a living. Would you go to work for free?

I respect your opinion and I'm not some total Metallica worshipper, just as a musician myself I can respect wanting to get paid for your work.

I'm a big Metallica fan, so, I'm just glad to see anything related to them.
