Ideas to remove paint from plastics???

I just bought this little YTM200ERN & YTM225DX and on the 200 someone decided to paint the faded yellow with yellow paint. Probably looked ok when it was first done but now its terrible. The plastics themselves seem decent other than some fading and bad paint. No holes or cracks or missing pieces that I can see. 205729 so I'd like to try and freshen it up a bit.

I just had to strip a plastic 350x Clarke tank that had been painted. I researched and came up with Easy Off oven cleaner was widely used for stripping paint from dirt bike plastics. It did work, took a couple of applications and some slight easy scraping but worked well and didnt harm plastic. Just beware that it doesn't play well with rubber, so remove any such pieces before trying. Just make sure to use where nothing else can be harmed and take appropriate precautions for yourself.

I used the paint stripper you can buy at Home Depot.

I used it on my Tecate tank and Maier plastics that came on my latest Tecate project. It had red fenders and tank painted green.

I know you're not supposed to use this stuff on plastics but this paint stripper is pretty wimpy compared to stuff I used 30 years ago. It worked great.

On my YT125, I used a product called Smart Strip, https://www.dumondchemicals.com/home-peel-away-smart-strip.html Get a quart of stripper, a cheap throw away brush with natural bristles, and a 9x12 sheet of about 3mil plastic. Coat the stripper on thick, & wrap in the plastic. Wrapping in the plastic keeps the stripper wet so the enzymes can work longer, if it dries the only way to get it of is more stripper. Let it sit over night, then try & peel the paint off under the plastic, if it comes off easy your good to go. I power washed mine off with a wide fan tip, to avoid damaging the plastics. Over most of it, I could have just used a water hose & hand sprayer. I think in all mine sat about 14 hours. Plastics turned out great & ready for polishing. It didn't take off the old decals though, but they were already trashed, so I peeled them off. Here's how mine turned out before I sold it. If you search you can find a few before & during pictures.

Lacquer thinner works great, and doesn't hurt the plastic.

I used a stripper from home depot, said to test small are on plastic first. It worked great. Brushed it on, let it sit about 30 min and pretty much wiped the paint of
f with a terry cloth. Used a toothbrush for the smaller parts and it worked pretty good. The stuff was called Citrastrip but I live in CA where you cant buy any of the good chemicals, so you might be able to find something a little better locally.

So I bought a LT 50 to match my ALT 50 and it had been painted with a primer then pink paint and then years later more primer and red paint. And to be honest with you I thought there was no way these plastics would ever clean up. The paint was just so thick and well adhered.
But I bought this stripper from Home Depot and sprayed it on thick and continued to keep a thick layer on it for 25-35 min and it did a real good job. I was impressed.
