I just acquired a 1982 250R atc. Its missing the plastics, the seat and the tank is junk. My question is can I use say the parts from a 1986 250r? I know they are different and obviously the shrouds serve no water cooling purpose, but if i can get a everything will it mount up? I just hate the older tank and seat look on the early models.

with skills, the will, a welder, some duct tape, and a little spray paint, anything is possible.

but no. there is no real way to make all that stuff work and end up with a clean looking result.

Time to go buy yourself a liquid r. All you will end with is a cobbled piece of garbage IMO..

Let's face it, the tank, seat and plastics give the first gen the stripped down, bare bones, race ready attitude it deserves. Let's keep it that way! JMO

I have a local guy on craigslist with all 86 plastics for cheap so I thought it would be a good, cheap, fast solution but I guess not.
Thanks for the help guys.

To each there own. Im not a fan at all but hey its all in the eye of the beholder. And that is a personal record for me in the euphemism department.

Keep it stock "OG" looks best on that year.

Man I love the 1981-82 250R tank & the 1983-85 200X tanks, it reminds me of "Franks"
