View Full Version : quad choice?

im looking into buying a quad inthe near future and i was wondering which would be my best choice, i am really leaned toward the raptor or YFZ 450. I am big into yamaha. I want a quad that is FAST and comfortable, and i want electric start, any preferences, they would be greatly appriciated..thanx

Matt man, I can't wait to see you driving one of those. If it was my choice it would be the 450, better suspension and handling and quick as hell. The Raptor would have the higher top speed but there's already 4 of them around here so get the 450.

i'd go with the 450. some say the seat is a little hard. i never noticed it though. its an awesome machine!!

I would go with the 450, if I had to have yamaha. Otherwise it would be honda

Take a look at the DS650 Baja X. If you want FAST and COMFORTABLE there isn't a better quad. It will beat a Raptor and it soaks up the ruts and bumps better also. If you are into jumping then don't look at the DS650. My friend has an '04 Raptor and we switch off every now and then. Every time he gets off the DS he comments on how plush the ride is and wonders why he can't get his to ride like it. Every time I get off his Raptor I can't wait to get back on my DS650 BAJA X! I can't comment on the yfz450 haven't ridden one yet. If you want fast get at least a 450 and don't mess with the 400cc quads.

I'll have to agree with Yardbird on the DS. They are very good machines....faster than the Rappy and definately more power. Suspension travel is 12" or more at each end....so jumping, rough trails, and whoops are not a problem. They are definately suited towards the bigger rider though...

Heh I agree with ya. But I didn't see anytime in the near future an ATC650X so I had to bite the bullet and add the extra training wheel to get the bigger CC's.
