So I picked up this big red and rode it about a week or so, The idiot I am changed the motor oil but not the diff oil yet. Well I am pulling a trailer in the yard today and the bike stops. and this loud clicking is coming from the diff. So I go to drain the oil in it and would you imagine that theres nothing in there. So what should I do from here? Fill it back up with oil and see what it does? take the diff apart? Any input is appreciated!

deep breath and put oil in it.
Be glad its not an 85 with less than 3 oz in it.
The 84 holds a cup or 2 but anyway.
The wheel hubs can and do strip out so we all have our fingers crossed thats what the prob is and not the
differential

it happened on my 250es, my bearings inside were finished because water came in. Change it right away before you strip everything because those parts new are very expensive!

Let's figure out which trike it is first.
200es was 1984. 1985 was 250es.
Hopefully it is a wheel hub stripped and softer than the axle so the axle is good.
Very common on the 200es 1984. not so much on the 1985 models.

Wait, I went and looked at 2 1985 200 S models.
pull start 200. Forgot about those.
The guy said the were 200sx models which I've never heard of.
