1982 atc 250r mods

Hellow everyone, I just picked up a 1982 atc 250r in poor yet rebuildable condition and am looking for any advise on performance mods. I know the engines were restricted compared to the 1980 cr250r. Im going to get a dg pipe and silencer, larger carb 36mm, open airbox, new reeds. beyond those things im at a loss. In addition, will the jug of a 1980 cr250r bolt on to a 1982 250r atc bottom end? To my knowledge the cr250r had more aggressive porting. Than you for your time!!!

The 1980 cr250 cylinder might bolt up but not positive. Even if it did I would doubt it would give you more power than if you added what you said (bigger exhaust and carb) plus a port & polish job on a atc 250r cylinder. If you want more power than that you can always shave the head to increase compression.
