Great Find! 85 Tecate 3

Hello All! New here and Great site! Just got this from a friend, Not sure whether to keep it or let it go for a quad due to kids.
Crazy to see the old timers still keeping these going strong. I grew up with these in Az and couldn't say no, but don't want my kids on it lol.
What do you think these go for?

Kids crash quads to...take the carb with you when you travel...or you could sell and regret it years later like most of us who sell our toys...its a nice looking trike if you decide to sell it would be a quick sale

Well it should sell for good money since its red and has the original plastic and also its an 85 so you have disc brakes not drums.

Clean it up and I would say 1,000-1,500. Whats up with the seat in the pics, is it unlatched? Nice bike. I believe ebay is really the only place you can get big money for nice bikes.

i would get the stock stickers for it . . the more stock and unworn it looks the more it will be worth . . just adding the stickers will make it worth a few hundred dollars more easy plus it will make it stand out more than the other beat to junk bikes.

i would also buy the headlite below and paint the frame with red from the auto store . . they have around 4 or 5 different colors of non metallic red and one of them will be plenty close then and advertise it with the bike or better yet make a flat bracket, weld it to the top of the guard then mount the lite it on the bike . . none of these bikes have the lite anymore and some people go bonkers for dead stock bikes because they assume they have not been thrashed . . you will get you $75.00 back two times over on the lite i assure you.

heres what a stocker looks like . . kinkos or a decal shop can replicate the decals . . they are discontinued and the tank one for the red bikes is very hard to come by.

i would try both craigslist and ebay . . start high like maybe $2400 obo if you get the lite etc . . its easy to go lower.

I went to buy some parts and the guy had a stock original red one in nice shape for $600. I thought well ...I already have 2 and this one is just red. Some one bought it on craigs and put it on ebay and it sold for over $2000. I am still kicking myself for not buying it.
