Storm was a bust here in south central PA, couple of inches at my place and petered out. Still sounds like NY and the NE states are gonna get hammered! Fabio, DC, Roostin...I know you guys are all gonna be at ground zero. Who else and what are you doing to prepare for "feet" of snow! Sound off guys, lets keep track of everyone.

Looks like only the further east NY will be in the foot range. The Massholes are the ones that look to get the brunt

Coastal Maine, we're supposed to get 2-3 feet. Nothing yet, just blowing. Nights like these make me wish I didn't work a night shift that makes me drive home at 2am.

Getting hammered here on the east end of Long Island. Lots of drifting and the town is barely keeping up with plowing. I went out to plow a few driveways at 5:30 in the morning and was pushing snow driving down the road with the plow up! Here are a few pictures quick, 1 is the before. there is an F150 under the one drift, you can just see the antenna.209075209074209073209072209071

I can't post mobile pics but I'll be taking plenty. Not sure how much snow we've gotten thus far but I can assure you all it is a lot. I've been up since 4am yesterday so that puts me at the 32+ hour mark being up and working. I just want to go home. And snowblow the goddam driveway before I can even get in. :-(

SEVEN feet ?? All lake effect??

Yeah the last storm in November dumped 7 feet of lake effect and there was up to 15 foot drifts in spots.

Stay safe! Good luck to you guys out there, I know things get sketchy quick. New Years Eve it was pretty crappy out and I watched a guy plow headfirst into a snowplow about 100yds in front of me. Thank god he was alive when I got to his little truck. Knocked out cold, but ok.

Gotta love the northeast snow storms.Montague NY set a record snowfall in 1997 77 inches in less than 24 hours.I like riding the trikes in the snowstorms.

I grew up in the northeast, even MADE snow at ski areas.
What I recall is snow for a couple days, then rain then below zero ,
or at least below freezing for a couple weeks.
Ruined the snow and lakes for skating etc.
This is the first I notice that it never warmed up.
They'd spend all kinds of effort removing snow but if they waited a day or so, it would surely rain
and then do the freeze thing.
Not this time.
Weather channel just said below zero in Worcester coming up?
Pacific NW seems to be sucking heat from the tropics so we have 60's now.
Strange planetary twist.
Hope everyone is ok.

We're completely buried. I've been taking work doing various kinds of snow removal, but honestly I've been spending a good amount of time just keeping the homestead working. Everything in the yard is buried and the house had to be shoveled off, ice dams taken care of, etc... Everything keeps breaking, vehicles and, well, everything really. Because of the snow everything takes five times as long to fix and there's usually many added steps to anything you have to do due to the snow. It can take all day to accomplish a relatively routine task sometimes. I passed up on work for almost this whole week to prep for Icefest and just to keep the house going. Snow shifts are always long so the house can cool off or ice dams could form and destroy the walls... You have to take care of this stuff now because there's more snow coming. Downtown Boston is an absolute shitshow, just a complete mess. There are crews all over the city that work at night with machines and trucks removing the snow and hauling it out of town. I went in for a night last week and was amazed, and that was before we got another two feet dropped on us this past week! Now we're supposed to get more snow this weekend both here and at Raffa's and we're heading right out into it with a two wheel drive truck and a 16" enclosed trailer. There's weather predicted for the entire weekend with the worst of it supposedly coming at us as we head home on Monday. We're more concerned with getting there than getting back, but I refuse to let this weather stop us either way. Imagine Boston then. I was amazed at how porked they were in town last week, and that was two storms ago, meaning there have been two more since the one I saw paralyzed us. Now another big guy coming next week, Christ almighty...

I love snow. But when it gets to the point where my trikes don't move, I get a little upset and just wish it was gone. Good luck to you guys up at raffas. It's suppose to be a high of like 7 degrees on Sunday here. I can't imagine the lake being warmer.

just for some perspective, this thread was started on 1/26. its now 2/24. Since this started we've had over 100 inches. what is most significant is that (except for a few hours on 2/22) it has not reached 32 degrees. we've had zero melting. it was -8 when i woke up to let the dog out this morning. there is no thaw in sight, and we're supposed to get a couple of inches more in the next couple of days. CRAZY.
