1983 200e big red help!!!!

i have a 83 200e and my cdi went out, my question is , would the yellow wires from the stator being crossed cause the cdi to go out, when i bought it the wires didnt have the connectors so i spliced some on but wasnt sure what yellow wire went with what one, i got it to crank and rode it for a couple days and was running fine when i turned it off.if that isnt the problem is there any other things that would cause this or just bad luck, any help is appreciated,thanks

the bike would not run if the wires were not hooked up correctly. Are you sure it is the cdi box because if you got it with a hacked up harness you could have other electrical issues. You need to ohm out every electrical part to be sure what the problem is. if it does turn out to be the cdi it will just have to be replaced.
