I'm working on a 1986 Yamaha 4-zinger that doesn't have spark and I can't seem to find any info anywhere on how to check the electrical system to track down the problem. So. does anyone have the specs to do that? and is the electrical system on a Tri zinger and pw50 the same? thanks

me personally id take a test light to the plug coming from the stator. should be a 2 wire system if it doesnt have lights on it. unplug that connector. and test there. if you can light up the test light from the stator wires, then its between a kill switch and coil.

Thanks for the suggestion but I just figured out it was the stator. I was able to borrow a pw50 and just using jumper wires hooked the pw's stator into the 4-zinger and it had spark. I have a stator on the way for it.
