Hi everyone! I'm glad I found this forum lots of information. I'm from Washington State. I have owned a 84 200s,110, 83 200x, 84 200x, my recent purchase was a Yamaha Tri-Z 250. Been reaching not much good talk about the Tri-Z. I have never rode a Tri-Z before. But I'm pretty sure this is not a stock engine. Bought it for 800. The guy said it would keep up with the 450. I guess I will need to put that to the test. Anyways I thought I'd stop by.

Welcome to the forum. I my self have yet to own a tri z. My brother had an 86 he loved it. I currently ride a modded 85 kxt 250 and it will run with the big quads 450's. My riding buddy rides a predator 500 and he can't get away from me.. I love 2 strokes. Good to see some new members out west.

Thanks! Will be riding it in the sand dunes. The guy said to mix 60:1 amsoil. What do you recommend?

60:1 is definitely on the lean side but if jetted correctly should be okay, I'd run richer imo

I'll probably try to run it 80:1 see what it does

Be careful 60:1 is lean 80:1 is extremely lean. I run my tecate 40:1 klotz it been good. I tried running my 83 honda 250r on the same mix (40:1)and burnned it up 3x.I did some trial and error learning before finding 3ww. Thanks 3ww!

Yeah called the yamaha dealer talked to some service guy he also said to run 40:1 that's what I'm running now. Gonna head out to the sand dunes tomorrow. See how it handles.
