The gas tank on my 350x is completely rotted on the inside and keeps contaminating my fuel. Are there any paints I can coat the inside of the tank with or does anyone sell a plastic tank replacement like they do with the big reds. Thank you

Yes - POR15 or Red Kote (other possibly but I can't remember) after thorough cleaning
Yes - Clarke and IMS http://justgastanks.com/index.php?cPath=1_28_34

I have had good luck just cleaning a tank and not coating. I did this with a couple of 200X tanks, an ATC70 tank, and a TRX 70 tank.

I tried cleaning it with LCR i even steamed cleaned it. But when when gas sits in it for over a day it gets this brown sludge that sits ontop of the tank and is fine enough to go past my fuel filter. Do you know of any other cleaners I can try and use?

Red Apple cider vinegar, fill and soak for 3-5 day depending on condition of the tank.

Is there a way to keep fuel tanks from rusting?
Should metal fuel tanks be completley drained over winter or filled up?

It doesn't matter if they are old and are sitting outside uncovered the amount of gas in them doesn't matter they are bound to rust they are around 25 years old lol. That's why no one uses metal gas tanks anymore lol cars included.

Update I have just emptied the vinager out and filled with gas and the gas is still turning brown. Thanks anyway guys but looks like I'm buying a plastic tank.

I have used Caswell Tank Sealer with good results on a couple motorcycle tanks. It takes a little time and patience but is probably the best tank sealer out there.

Or a plastic tank and you'll never have to mess with it again.

Keep them full with fresh gas and they will never rust. I have a 1985 125m that stays full and doesn't have a spot of rust. Full or empty the worst thing for these machines is to let them sit. Run em they are good for it!!!!
