Need help on how to change this out. I know it's just the guts I have to change but what all needs to be done.

Do you need to change the entire year end or the gears? Does the 200 have a shock? What year are the models?

Do you have a service manual for that model?

Below is the link for the three wheeler manuals if you don't already have it:

The manual doesn't explain the swap between the two different diffs. The ytm 200 is a little longer in the shaft between the motor and diff. The ytm 200 diff is bolted the the axle housing where the ytm 225 is separate from the axle housing.

If you only need the "guts" then it shouldn't matter what components hook onto it. The manual does explain how to remove almost every part of the trike and reassemble it. If you get stumped at a certain part of the build let us know. I would imagine that the tires, hubs, axle, rear shock, axle housing, and drive shaft on both machines needs to be removed. Then the fun begins. Take your time, read the manual, take pics, and holler back if you get in a bind.

I checked your other thread out. Frame looks solid. Are all the parts operable? Is the rear end shot? Why exactly do you need to swap gears?

All parts are good to go. Both rear ends are good and complete. I want to swap the inside of my ytm200 with a ytm 225 to gain 15% more top end. Yes I will lose a little on the bottom end but that's fine i am currently doing a port and polish, cam, lifters, valves, springs, gaskets, punching out the block and putting a 20 over high compression piston in it. I rejetted my carb for a bigger main jet. And I'm also putting raptor 660 hubs on the rear so I can mount 12" rims with 27" gators.

I forwarded this from another member's thread hope this helps:
Hey
exact same thing happened to me.I put a YTM 225 DIfferential on it.

You need to take the cover plate off the 225 diff and bolt the ytm 200 bearing carrier onto it. there is a few things you need to swap over...i did this last winter and if you get a 225 diff... you will have all the parts you need...its just a matter of swapping parts from one diff to another..

If you use the 225 diff..it gears the trike up 15% from stock. Its geared way too high for it.. Im going to be getting 22 inch tires to compensate.

But if you cant find a new 200 diff...use the 225 one. Its good enough.

Pm me if you have anymore questions.

I have done a few big red diffs, never had to go through my yamahauler diff. What's got you stumped?

What pieces to interchange inside the diff to get the 15% top end. I have Only heard about it. People say the 225 diff is geared to high for the 200 so it won't spin the tires. Don't see how that works. My 200 has so much torque for a little machine. Not only that I'm doing a lot of topend work for more horse and torque.

Count the teeth on the ring and pinion on both diffs that will get you started.
