I had a huge grin before I even opened this page ! What a treat lol. Heck,I just took a new Savage 116 Stainless 7mm Mag with a Bone Collector scope and strap in trade towards a sled and I was happy lol..

Well post a pic!

My neighbor is a professional tv hunter personality. The 7mm is his go to gun, stags to monster bears.

This 1919 has a 22lr conversion kit being made for it. I then plan to mount it on the Argo to put the hurt on all soda cans that venture too close to me on my woods trail shoot

Bob Walker had a cabin here, and retired here, and died here. I serviced his stuff :(. He went WAY too young..... And Bob Foulkrod lives 15 miles from here. Amazing lives those guys live. Too fast paced for me though.. TV schedules, shooting shows and commercials here there and everywhere.

Is there such a thing as a semi-auto converted belt-fed weapon??

Is there such a thing as a semi-auto converted belt-fed weapon??

ABSOLUTELY........ahem ahem

The RPD is a really nice belt gun and I can put one together with my eyes closed... not as fun as the real thing but fun anyway.

http://www.dsarms.com/p-13375-dsa-rpd-semi-auto-rifle-wooden-buttstock-handguard-with-bi-pod-762-x-39mm-cal.aspx

there are also Yugo M53 semi conversions which shoots 8mm Mauser (they were 1200rd a minute in their full rock form...stupid fast) and many more

here`s a good list of belt fed semi conversions: http://www.survivalistboards.com/showthread.php?t=121456

There aren`t as many parts sets of belt feds left to build a semi version anymore but they are a lot more common than people know.....ALL NFA rules apply of course

8 years back, that 1919 in the OP would fetch $450 as a parts set.... These days, that one sawed in half would fetch over 1800 right now just as non-working parts set

I also do this twice a year:

http://www.knobcreekrange.com/events/featured-events/machine-gun-shoot

big swap meet with serious hardware, jungle walk, shotgun, and submachine gun matches, full auto rental (insanely popular and almost 50 types of weapons available to rent), and The Night SHoot.....on Saturday night they load tracers into everything on the front range, sing the National Anthem, and as soon as its dark they throw all the light switches off and OPEN FIRE....explosions, fireballs, tracers (usually there is at least ONE GE Minigun on the range and sometimes two or three. You ain`t seen or heard nothing till you hear and see a minigun cut loose....unless of course you were a combat veteran and then I would say you have seen much worse than this but for civvies, it hits home a lot more than some disconnected television version of the same thing.

ironchop nailed it ;)

Here's some 1919's on gunbroker

If I had know back then what I know now, I'd have kits stacked to the ceiling and I'd never leave my shop except to get more beer and shoot my freshly built kits. :naughty:

I would highly suggest that anyone who loves firearms should attend just one Knob Creek Machine gun shoot in their lives if you live in the Midwest. They have two a year. There are people from all over the world attend every year. It`s just a bit southwest of Louisville Kentucky closer to Ft. Knox.....Awesome show and even more awesome swap meet.

Boy do I love the Gatling guns!!

My favorite resides in the nose of the A-10 Warthog.. :naughty:
But somehow I doubt that gun would be at the machine gun shoot! LOL!

Warthog is a favorite of mine too.

Yes, belt fed 308, Israeli kit put together by one of the best builders, john McGuire. Not sure if he is still building.
