While you were busy filling out your NCAA brackets, the half-wits @ the EPA are trying to find ways to protect your neighbors from lung cancer from second-hand grill smoke produced by shishkabobs and cheeseburgers.

aren`t you all proud of the Police State you voted for?

It`s to protect the children from having to live in a wasteland of climate chaos caused by those inconsiderate backyard chefs and their greedy inconsiderate Family Cookout guests whom demand grilled goodness at any cost.

I think the wife was right.....we need to retire in Belize.....far from the crack smoking vote whores who run this mother@#$%&^

Supposedly there is like 8-10 BILLION livestock animals on the planet and well they fart and trailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro a lot. And most of the grain in the world is grown to feed them and not human beings. The rich have to have their meat and well some people just have to starve because of it.

Methane > Carbon dioxide as far as an ozone damaging gas goes.

Common sense tells you trees breathe CO2 not methane.

So people laughed and said "what's next? They will tax the air?". Yep. Soon there will be a fart tax.

I've recently been captivated by a thread on www.advrider.com where a gentleman moved from Canada down to Costa Rica and has been exploring and searching for a home and property to buy and live permanently. The adventure down there via motorcycle was fascinating to me, but the process, trials and tribulations he's encountered looking for a place have also been really interesting. For all the bad about it, there is an awful lot of shrug your shoulders and do your own thing type mentality which we are lacking anymore...

Certainly made the thought cross my mind a few times reading about him doing it.

....Common sense tells you trees breathe CO2 not methane...

Common Sense was never invited to the debate.

It has a pesky way of completely derailing ideological-based agendas and making a public mockery of liars and delusionists.

We can`t have people realizing the "experts" are full of Solid Methane

They came for the tobacco and the masses applauded. They came for our polluting old "gas guzzlers" and commercial diesels, and the masses applauded. They came for our table salt (NYC) and the masses applauded. They came for our non-toxic incandescent light bulbs that only cost around 50 cents a piece only to shove those wonderful, dolphin-friendly CFL's that cost 10 times more and have mercury in them.. Yeah, that's got to be wonderful letting those pile up in your neighborhood landfill...And as a fringe benefit, the light they give off sucks, there is a 1 second delay between the time you flick the switch till the time the damnable thing emits light. And of course, they have to warm up, so they take a few moments to come to full light emission. Yeah, leaps and bounds ahead of that terrible old incandescent bulb that was cheap and just worked... They have come for, at least in NY, the E-cigs (part 2 of the tobacco crusade) and they STILL applaud. They took away your right as a property owner to burn your brush after doing tree work... Smokey Bear gives you a hug. I could keep typing examples, but I'm just getting more irritated and do not want to ramble about.

The supreme court ruled a year or 2 ago that c02 is a "greenhouse gas" and therefore subject to regulation by the EPA. That's right folks, the stuff WE BREATH OUT, and TREES TAKE IN! I'm sure we haven't seen the last of this ruling, not by a damn sight.

Is anyone REALLY surprised by this???

Now I am not saying tobacco is harmless. Nor do I assert wasteful abuse of our resources is prudent or acceptable. I believe in personal liberty, and with it personal responsibility. I also believe in responsible use of our natural resources as opposed to enshrining it, locking it away forever from our use. I believe that if I visit a burger joint in NYC (undoubtedly an endangered species in that crap-hole) that if I decide that I want more salt on my french fries, who the hell is the NYC council to tell me I cannot have a salt shaker on my table??

Are we living in bizarro world???

Is this the dream of the founders?? To be manipulated via taxation and controlled in nearly every aspect of our lives by unseen and distant, un-elected and conveniently unaccountable government bureaucrats??

To cite the cliche of the "slippery slope", I often find myself eyeballed as some kind of kook conspiracy theorist. But dammit, it starts somewhere, and it's small little steps, always under the guise of "common sense" and for my own good, or of course, the safety of the precious children.

This is the evil of progressivism and their end game of utopian social engineering, gents. It started in the late 1800's, gained alot of steam under Woodrow Wilson, and then peaked in the 1930's under Roosevelt. It reared it's head again in the 60's and is now back with a vengeance today.

Is it really a coincidence that this nation rose from a weak, fledgling representative republic, founded on the principles of personal liberty, free enterprise, and limited government, to a world superpower in just over 140 years?? We grew by leaps and bounds in the first hundred years of our existence, but it was not because the EPA allowed our preceding generations to start that business, build that railroad, mine that gold, plant that wheat, drive those cattle, etc etc. And now, we were not without our faults. We paid dearly for not dealing with the slavery issue at the founding. 640,000 Americans paid the ultimate price for that sin. And of course, the things perpetrated on the American Indian were atrocious.

What I am saying is that this country rose from the ashes of near non-existence without this huge, bloated, overstepping government and all of its unconstitutional agencies and bureaus protecting us from ourselves.

Is there no end to this insanity???

The light bulbs reminded me of the incandescent bulb in the fire house in I think PA that had 100 year birthday party. It was made in Ohio. Yes some people in ohio were making light bulbs that lasted 100 years. This is not a fluke, it is science and a true possibility. Except there is a world wide light bulb manufacturing cartel that demands light bulbs not last more than the hours they specify or you are fined. Why? Profits.

Most of the things you buy now are engineered to fail on purpose after a certain period of time.

Scientists and engineers are paid to design inferior products so the companies can sell more of them faster.
If you went to school and got a job and were going to use your knowledge and brain to make the world a better place, then your boss asks you to design a trailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro product for profit, why dont you quit?

And if you think the light bulb cartel stuff is crazy talk then take the time to look and you will find the info and documents are available.

yeah.....when I was twelve.....and I was impressionable and naïve.....My biology teacher was covering Earth Sciences one day and described how plants, through osmosis, absorb co2 and water. Then sunlight is converted into energy through a process known as photosynthesis which uses the chloroplasts and the chlorophyll they contain as a biological solar cell, if you will, to power the production of sugars to be used as a fuel for plant growth. These plants then emit oxygen as a byproduct.

I now know, thanks to the Huff Post and MSNBC, this was all a propaganda campaign perpetrated by the Conservative Right to trick me into supporting the corporate right to pollute and that photosynthesis is dangerous and melts glaciers and that plants do not turn co2 into o2 because that flies in the face of "settled climate science" and radical ideas like photosynthesis are best left on the scrap heap of history.......because racism.

Because we emit carbon dioxide the painful truth is that we all need to stop breathing to fix the Earth. I would suggest the EPA folks and tree huggers lead by example and go first.:D

I sure am sick of being told what I can and cannot do, especially on my own damn property. The EPA needs to be regulated by some "normal" people. There was a clip on our news station about the new regulations that the EPA wants on woodstoves, the cost of a new stove would be about double what they are now. This crap goes way too far, not just the EPA crap, but everything we do. My township is still trying to ban farm animals here, we are 10 miles from the nearest city type setting and a lot of people here have animals that they use for food. I still have my pet ducks, and they will not be cooked any time soon.

Our country is the cleanest and they still want to make it cleaner. The big companies just have it made in china to get around taxes and all that emmisions regs here. The polotcians are controlled by millionaire clubs who meet up and discuss what they want to do. They think since the wealthy people are wealthy they were smart enough to get rich so they "know what is best" for the rest of us. Even though most of them were born into a rich family or chosen to be rich. So they guve the poloticians a bunch of money to do what they want.

You know there is a simple solution to all of these problems: Ban Lobbying! Of coarse that will never ever fly because lobbying is the hand that feeds the federal / political greed machine.

The rise in respiratory disease can be directly correlated to the atmospheric nuclear tests, during and since ww11.

When it was realised what had been done tobacco carried the can and generates huge tax revenue. Double winner.

Active volcanoes spew out more shite than total global anthropological emissions.

Governments now realise that the encouragement to use more diesel to reduce CO2 emissions has resulted in more particulates floating around and that is fecking people up.

Most people with log burners/fires can heat their homes with fuel that can be sourced cheaply and circumvent taxation.

Combustion of solid fuel produces particulates......

I prefer to be informed. I want a little warning before they kick my door down to fit my ass with a catalytic converter pipe. Room is already sparse in that area due to the tax probe they installed a few years back.

Yup.

Burying your head in the sand, ignoring it, "It doesn't affect me", etc just continues to let these Liberal/Socialist policies be forced upon us without any say from the people because the government knows what's best for us.

Then, one day it's "WHAT??? I can't do what? Who made that f'ed up law? I never heard about that!!

"Well, it was on the news and in the papers for weeks"

"I don't watch the news cuz I don't care. It doesn't affect me. Ain't nobody got time fo dat."

"Heh, I guess it affects you now doesn't it?"

Hell, before you know it someone will get hurt on a three wheeler, a lawyer will file a (bunch of) lawsuits, the government will get involved, it will be on the news, 60 minutes will do a segment showing how deadly three wheelers are. Nobody will care because it won't affect them, and "It'll never happen" and "They can't do that" and the government will try to pass laws restricting the manufacture of three wheeled death traps and.......

Oh, wait a minute.........

found this today:

http://news.heartland.org/newspaper-article/2015/03/20/why-i-am-climate-change-skeptic

take care to read the author`s bio at the bottom of the article.....yeah it was written by a cofounder of GREENPEACE. Hard to argue with that.

Would also like to add that I think it ODD that woodsmoke is suddenly destroying the planet whereas it had NOT been destroying the planet AT ALL up until 150 years ago. Must be some of those NEW WOOD TREES that have invaded Earth late in the current Epoch and are wreaking havoc on unsuspecting loggers and firewood splitters the world over. All one needs is to use common sense to debunk three quarters of the hogwash that comes from the EPA who doesn`t care that pharmaceutical and herbicide/pesticide companies continue to poison the water supply....these companies support The Grid and woodburning ranchers are undermining The Grid so we must attack them first lest The Grid not be all inclusive and all enslaving

secondly, There are FAR more machines of all kinds and lighting of every type on Earth than there were 200 years ago.......what do machines and lighting have in common? HEAT.....they both produce HEAT as a byproduct of their work........More HEAT than ever before.....hmmmmm.......yes obviously it ain`t from more machines and lighting permeating nearly every square mile of Earth.....nope.....has to be from cattle, woodstoves, backyard grills, and coal power plants. Settled Science means it cannot be attributed to anything other than what climate "scientists" believe and claim cannot be disputed lest you are just a "Denier" (which is a lot like being a "racist".....like a climate racist lol)

How about WAR? Imagine all the ways War destroys an environment and all the heat that`s produced from explosions and fires......bombs, bullets, mines, missiles, planes, trains, tanks, aircraft carriers, battleships, submarines, logistical vehicles, and machinery destroying the landscape and releasing heat and other dangers into the atmosphere.....you would think an "environmentalist" like our Pres, who claims to love the environment, would stop trying to bomb it flat with drones and missiles...not so, of course. War is ok and good for electioneering....the Environment must take a back seat to War.....because Equality for all. All except the precious Environment, of course. Because ISIS.

you know what ese produces more heat? Human populations. Which I might add number much more now than in the past.

my whole point? Heat= Warming. Heat from Technology is no less a problem than other other source but you don`t hear anyone saying we should ban hot cellphones or regulate Xbox 360s. Ask yourself WHY that is.....Ask yourself WHY all the concentration on just certain sources of pollution and not the larger sources. Ask yourself why Jet traffic is NOT subject to any of the same emissions regulations as automobiles are. You can`t pretend any of these facts are false while pretending the problem is cattle, coal plants, and grilling salmon steaks next to a wood campfire.

I love Nature.....I am a Conservationist and tilt toward being an Environmentalist. I dig trees but my love of Nature is based in REALITY and not News Anchor folklore. I believe in responsible and sustainable USE of our natural resources. Call me a denier but I believe the idea of "peak oil" is overblown in order to justify rising costs of oil by pretending the supply is dwindling especially since these "statistics" were reported long before a bunch of new discoveries of pockets of oil have cropped up and continue to crop up. Do these same "scientists" then change the data and recalculate their theorems and report it to the Scientific Community in the interest of objective and updated data? No, sadly, the rules of the Scientific community all too often only apply until agendas are debunked and there is danger of the People losing confidence in the "science" and therefore any dissention must be quashed and contrary evidence must be hidden or discredited with smear campaigns. If Oil were indeed past peak and supplies are quickly running out, a smart oil company would start exploring NEW resources to exploit NOW and NEW technologies to sell to their customer base rather than just wait until it`s all gone and then fade into bankruptcy and failure. But they are doing NOTHING of the sort. I am expected to believe the only industry whom has reported RECORD PROFITS every quarter for the last two decades is too stupid to get out of the game before it all crashes? I`m calling bullshot. I believe NONE of what I am told by these so-called "experts".

I’m no expert, but I would guess that just one season of Canadian forest fires is equal to about a zillion times more CO2 than every cave fire, wood stove and BBQ emission combined since humans came to be on this rock.

You know what else? The large trees that burn from those NATURAL fires give way to many more smaller trees that give off even more oxygen. I’m not even going to mention volcanos that are diminishing every millennia that numerically balance out the contaminations generated by our current existence. Bottom line is humans never have an likely never will have the power to change what this Earth and the cosmos that it lives in want to do in their own sweet time.

If we pollute and poison ourselves to extinction so be it, it’s just a modified and perhaps slightly exaggerated version of the natural selection processes that have been going on for eons with other species that took a shot at survival here.

I’ll add, anyone who wants to trailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro about my contributions to global warming best not have more than 2 kids under the age of 15 that share their DNA, or I will expose them for the ecological terrorists they are. I’ll be damned if I have to give up my 2 strokes and cookouts so that the offspring of some DF that can’t put a rubber on can live an extra few years without dying of smoking or eating Doritos for breakfast.

Yea, yea "go forth and multiply" What it really means is that people should learn to do the math and not breed like rabbits.

Being in the child care field for 15+ years.I am SO fixed on people not making kids. I know,I know... NONE of my business. There are MILLIONS of children out there with not a single place to go. Nowhere. Adoption is a beautiful, amazing thing. I know, because I've done it. We humans really need to cutback on reproducing. And take care of what's already here.
