I got a KLT250 basket case project for next to nothing, and am going through the motions to bring it back to life. As it stands now, the wiring is essentially gone, and whats left is hacked up, and I'm missing lots of parts.
Anyways, it is a rare bike (here anyways) and I will plug away at it. I'd like to bring another one back from the brink.
Here to learn from the knowledge of others essentially. Hey all!

I'm in the same situation, just purchased an 85 tecate in a box. With it though came boxes of extra parts, no extra wiring, but extra magnetos and an extra CDI. Let me know if I can help, it would be cool to have someone else doing this build to consult with.

The Tecate's are quite different in some regards, but similar in others (4x4 bolt pattern wheels... no other bikes have these lol.)
I'd love to see your build progress as well. I started a post where I am getting into it.

I recently replace my stator on my 82 klt 250 due to the battery not charging. Right before I changed it I tried starting it but the battery was to low. After changing the stator I put the charger on it and went to start it and nothing. I can't get it to roll over when I hit the start button but it'll roll over if I touch the solenoid with a screw driver. But it's not getting spark now. The only thing I can think of is the cdi isn't telling it to fire now..any suggestions or has anyone else had a similar problem?
