Well I have been looking for a way to get better suspension out of my fat cat I picked up a 86 250r front forks and triple clamps started to figure out how to fit them. They sure feel like the would add travel and strength. Mocked them up and it looks as if the wheel base will bee close to the same maybe 1" longer but it would take some work and the tack is a lot more. It charges the axel from a leading to a trailing does this pose any issues? It also will raise it up a bit which is good so I can improve the rear also.

One issue I will be fighting I try this mod is the head set stem length and bearings the fat cat has roller bearing (and it sucks when the fall out and go everywhere) the 250r setup has tapered bearings any ideas? The stem is also a has two different size the ads on the top where the fat cat only had one size theads for the top headset.

Lookin for some ideas that may make this doable or just sell the parts and start over?
